P=2.5c*6.7/n is the only thing I remember from those classes.
Very comprehensive and to the point !
I am getting fuel in the oil pan.
Too bad Chuck Hamlin wasn't around to change out the O-rings; that might've made the difference in some of these accidents.
Very good video
More people need to see this I work in a mill and the old guys are…. Yea that should say enough 😂. Thanks for the help bro.
Thanks for the compliment, glad to hear it was helpful and endorsed by the old guys!
very informative... I finally did understand the concept and operation of AIR BREAK ...
I worked on all kinds of earthmoving equipment, but nothing beats working with a bulldozer. 53 years ago I started with my first bulldozer, a Caterpillar D6B, serie 44A. Beautiful dozer with angle blade, winch, direct drive. Followed by D6C, D8H serie 22A, D8H serie 46A, D8K serie 77V. Never run a high track Cat. At the end of the 80's I became Technical and operational manager of all earthmoving equipment in the company. Retired 3 years ago, having great memories, operating a dozer. Nice video, thanks for sharing!
That is an awesome work history, thanks for sharing! My grandfather started his excavating business with an early CAT dozer and I have the utmost respect for those dozer operators that can make sites look perfect running an old machine with steering clutches and brakes; all while making it look easy. That is some true talent!
What year was this 78…79? Looks older, but all these films were old for their time.
I remember being on a job sites and having the medical personal jump out automatically wearing hard hats. These are great videos, they use real world situations, people can still learn from these, to bad they don’t play them anymore.
Do you have a version without the annoying background noise?
Excelent clip !
Thank you! After learing how the air system works i was able to diagnose and fix the problem on a tractor. Very much appreciated!
@@bradyoberdieck6515 That is great to hear, thanks for sharing!
I work at a heavy equipment mechanic shop that part at 2:02 made me lol. We all know that one guy.
I can't be the only one who see this as wrong, am I?? How in the world does he come up with a'1.476', when it not even past an inch?? Should he have said ONLY .476"??
I am sure you are not the only one but you are missing the first step, "What is the range?". In the example we are using a 1 to 2 inch micrometer, meaning that it starts at 1 inch and goes up from there. 0:46 It would actually be impossible to get an accurate reading of 0.476" with a 1 -2" micrometer. I hope this clarifies it.
@@JimMackHeavyEquipment Got it.
Why don’t we use compression to ignite gasoline too?
Its easier to ignite gas&air mixture using spark
I think your stretching that "myth" ive heard 1000 times. Its refering to the seals that hold the oil in the cylinder. Not sure where you heard it only being the INTERNAL piston seals. But when people in the midwest talk about there bucket leaking down the conversation usually starts with "well there was a puddle under the machine today..." i think you were sly to specifically say piston seals but no single person ive heard out in the field say that has specifically said or been talking about the piston seals.
I totally agree with you that if there is an external leak, it can leak down. However, in my experience when there is an external leak the complaint is not "my bucket drifts down", instead the complaint is "there is a puddle of oil under my machine". This demo was meant to address the cylinders that drift down without an external leak.
I got the last one wrong, I thought they should have checked the weight limit of the waitress…
“Is there a way we can wreck these old machines and claim the value back as a business expense…?” “We could make a safety movie.”
At 18:16 he stole that Buick from Kojak…
Thank you
great video
Does it matter which way the race faces?
Yes, it 100% matters. The race is tapered and if installed backwards it will not work. It is called an "opposed tapered bearing" system and there are two races that must be installed opposite ways from each other.
@@JimMackHeavyEquipment thanks for the reply, so does the thicker end sit against the lip in the hub?
@@MSB1080 Yes, that would be correct.
@@JimMackHeavyEquipment great thank you, I took it out but didn’t keep track of which way it faced lol. Appreciate it!
Do you have a part number on your tool

Where did you find this simulator?
That's what I'm wondering too. Let me know if you find it!
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله اخي عندي بوبكات بتقفل السيبة وانا شغال اي هو السبب طبعا الدينمو نظامي يعطيني 14 هل يعقل ان يكون بلف الكنترول اين يوجد
I've got my forklift, backhoe and bulldozer tickets and now I want to get my skid steer!!!
For a car or pickup, I use a $12 one gallon sprayer. I use clear tubing, 5/16 ball valve with barb fittings, short tubing then copper tubing with a hook bent on the end. There’s a video somewhere.
That is a good idea. An adapted, garden sprayer would work well also and is a bit lower cost. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome step by step .
Thanks for information 💪🏽🫡
at 16:41 thats not the only problem, that job is for a CRANE, not an excavator!!, the bucket is for digging!!!! NOT lifting loads by cables.
While I agree with you that a crane might be better suited for setting manhole sections, the reality is it is almost always done with an excavator. They typically don't move the excavator out after digging the hole, to move a crane in and set the sections, and then swap the crane with an excavator again to backfill. The whole job can safely be done with an excavator and modern excavators do have load lift charts to indicate how much can safely be lifted in various positions.
It’s 2:44am and I’m starting an old safety video about a field I don’t work in 😂 The lessons do apply somewhat universally though. Just not the solutions.
You just saved me big time I had a test the other day and I watched this the night before and 10 mins before test and I studied everything and passed 🔥🔥😄
I hate this I’ve spent my entire career trying not to do that now I’m allowed to on these stupid little plugs I don’t know what to believe anymore life is just upside down now I don’t know who or what to believe I’m running in circles which way is up which way is down I JUST DON’T KNOW ANYMORE. 😂😂😂 I actually like fittings and fasteners like this.
I understand your pain! Not sure how that is easier/cheaper than just making a plug that you can install and remove again. When I first saw the plug in the new package I thought maybe the machining department forgot a step and just sent it anyway.
Dude stopped talking like it wasn't supposed to do that
that’s extremely satisfying
I have just bought this enitre NOS kit for $70 thru eBay

How often do you need to change this dyer filter if ever?
A good educational video. I have been operating dozers/scrapers/graders/loaders etc since I left school at 16, am 74 now and still doing it full time. Things have changed a bit since that video was made in the form of GPS machine control to make working to finish grades a lot easier and quicker and more accurate, but the basic fundamentals of moving dirt are still the same and that video was excellent in covering all of that. It should be compulsory viewing for all wannabe operators.
Ever kid should love sports and fishing not me I loved the big machines.
