What note is this being played on? I'm an alto and so far this is the only note I've found myself comfortable singing in.

While I currently don’t plan to offer online classes, there are many excellent resources and teachers available online. I encourage you to explore some of the free tutorials on platforms like UA-cam or websites offering piano courses. I used to spend a lot of time learning and playing classical pieces on the piano myself. However, I eventually realized that becoming a concert or church pianist wasn’t my ultimate goal. So, I decided to shift my focus to another instrument that I carry with me everywhere-my voice! Investing in my vocal instrument has brought me great returns. It’s given me confidence, enhanced my presence in various situations like class presentations, job interviews, preaching/teaching, and of course, in choir and solos. So while piano is a wonderful skill, developing your voice can be equally, if not more, rewarding. Just my two cents. This arrangement misses a major moving bass part at the measures that begin with "Rejoice!" What was wrong with the song the way it was written?
Thank you for your feedback! I transcribed this arrangement as close as possible to the source document I found on a public domain website. I only exercise a free hand with elements like key signature, tempo, intro/interlude addition, stanza choices, and dynamics. The closest thing to rearrangement I did was remove some rests in a couple of hymns. As a bass singer, I’m really glad to hear that there's another arrangement out there with a moving bass part - that sounds wonderful! I haven’t looked outside my source website yet, so if you or anyone else knows of a non-copyrighted music score with that part, I’d definitely appreciate it if you could share the link. Thanks again!

Is this a new LDS hymn song
History notes I gathered: The tune was adapted from "Swiss Cradle Song" by Clement Scott. It was released by the Australian music company W. H. Paling and Co. in 1913. It was then adapted in New Zealand for a farewell song for Maori soldiers beginning in World War I, modified with the words "This is the hour," used as a waltz tune, and then picked up in 1945 by singer Gracie Fields with the words "Now is the hour." Glad you liked the hymn.
