Damn this guy is actually insane. His works are WAY TOO underrated.

I won't make friends with my comment now...but. He's too good for the industry. His understanding of space and volume and movement is too good and he can manipulate it too well. This should be a positive thing, and in a way, it is, but personally, I''m a bit sick of choreographic precedence his greatness and ability has set. What do I mean by that? Take JJK as an example. That Sakuna vs Mahoraga fight, not just his contributions but the entire thing. Does it look sick? Yes. But it's also ...very nonsensical and has devolved into unhinged noise where everything has to fly around everything else, no more subtlety no more chill and focused. The more subdued cuts are actually the best in my opinion, they to me convey the most power in that fight, but the choreography is part of it all too and it's just a jumbled mess. And this kind of mess is what he, being able to pull it off so well, fosters. Subtlety is the hardest thing to do in animation, actually and I feel focused stuff is fading away. I miss it already. I...really miss it already. Calm down, animators. Calm down. It's clear you know perspective. Calm down.

As much as i love his curent output, his clean choreography era will always be my favourite. His approach in Soul Eater are truly divine
