Good, basic kit. Not having tons of gear makes it useable. I like the idea of a mesh bag that folds up to nothing. I look for the string bags or nylon pocket backpacks you get in some shoe boxes as the carry bags for these sorts of kits.

Where can you buy?

You have water purification tablets but no container. A fold up plastic bag container needs to be found. Make room by removing duplicate items. Dump the separate ferro rod and striker and keep the one in the knife. Dump the matches in favor of the butane lighter. Swap the full sized butane lighter for a Bic Mini. Dump the mustard as nearly worthless. I would have used packets of mayonnaise, higher calorie content, but still would dump them. Dump the analgesics except one. But add an anti-diarrheal. Swap the glow tick for a slimline flashlight, which can be a signal light that can be seen for a long distance. . With the slim line flashlight you can dump the backpack light.

The net bag is a cool idea! Your kit is missing first aid stuff.

Hey, came at a good price, some of your time but you didn't get sucked in to far. Yes, like the modular system and could see some of them making it into your kits. The hat radio setup would be handy. Did it include batteries?

That is a great kit man! The jacket+pants+poncho kit is a good choice if you live in humid/rainy places. If you allow for a lil suggestion, I'd add a box of batteries, powerbank, solar charger or similar, to make sure those flashlights last forever (or longer at least), a bit of a bigger medkit, and some redundancies, for fire specially. Still, great kit! thank you for sharing!

Its good that you acknowledge the uses of teh tablet towelletes, they are great, hardly anyone mentions their use as tinder, they work great as they are natural fibres....

I would put the sachets in a bag in case they burst...also as you have lighter, and ferro with the knife the 2nd ferro might be overkill, and it is large...

Cool little kit

Good start to your kit. The bag seems good to start with. The sawyer filter and the aqua tabs are good choices-please practice with your gear, chemicals etc and read the instructions so you know how to use them if you need to if you have not already done so. Check the glow sticks-if they are old they might not work (I tried a couple of mine from an old kit and they did not work). Please make sure the aqua tabs and everything in your kit (especially the first aid stuff), are not expired or replace if they are. That saw blade looks pretty rough-hopefully you have or can acquire a few spares for it (or can obtain a back up with extra blades). The compass looks like the lensatic type, which is better than the base plates. Have a map with the compass and understand how to navigate-that will get you to safety and out of trouble in rough terrain. I would also suggest to replace the first aid kit-that little first aid pouch is tiny and doesn’t seem to have enough to get you through more than a one or 2 “boo boos”. Other than that, you’ve got a good start to your emergency kit there. 👍
