Such a fantastic gym you have the dream gym of many! Good work.
Thank you for the review and info. I watched both videos. I, too, purchased a used Hoist HL-4357, or at least I think that's what it is, but I've never found the serial number sticker. FYI, I found a brochure at hoistfitness online that states the following specifications: Product dimensions (L x W x H): 83" x 31" x 57" Product weight: 480 lbs (221 kg) Max exercise weight: 720 lbs (327 kg)
Not a single mirror to check your form?
@@TommyNew planning to get some just need to find a way to mounted
Great gym! Great tour! How do you like the Amazon leg extension/curl?
@@terencewulff5685 to be honest it feels good but it has few issues. Because is plate loaded the machine will move around if you go heavy.
what's the model ?
Nice brother! Thanks for sharing.
Nice setup Sir What is the ceiling height in that basement gym? Thinking about doing something similar in my basement..
@@ousamaabdu794 my basement is 90 inches to the frame and 100 inches between frames. However I wouldn’t worry about the height I would worry about entering into your basement. I had to passed out on a lot of good deals because I couldn’t get it into my basement gym and a lot of times it will fit in your gym but you couldn’t get it to fit into your basement doorway. So if you thinking about building a basement gym think about can you get it into your gym first then think about will it fit.
Awesome gym. What's your favorite body part to train here?
@@kidbrown2010 definitely back. The Titan lat tower was a game changer but the low row sucks.
Im debating between this machine and the Body solid combo. Is the hoist leg press foot plate big enough tho? my gym is very tight, I read that hoist is narrower is that true? Better for gym space
@@sirpetesompra755 I tried both of them and are almost the same size however I would still recommend the hoist one because it gives you better range of motion. U can go much lower on hack squat and leg press unlike the bodysolid one that stop before you get the stretch on your muscles. You can check out my other video on this machine
@@BasementGymreviews the footplate on Leg Press part looks small. Thats the only part im worrying about
@@sirpetesompra755 the leg press plate are 23”x10”. Almost all the combo machine like this has small footplate. At least for the budget friendly ones. Titan, hoist and body solid are almost the same but the Titan ones have extra wight sleeves for more plates. However Titan does not go as deep as the hoist one. It depends on how you like it. More weight choice Titan, better stretch(range of motion) choice hoist. Personally I wouldn’t recommend the body solid one because it does not give you extra sleeve and doesn’t go as deep unless you got it for really good deals then sure. overall it all depends on your personal preference
What was the name of your rack? What is the height?
@@coachflexfitnessny it is major lutie or they changed their name to major fitness but it is the PLM03 rack and the dimensions are L66.9”x W63”x H84”
Thanks for the follow up video. Hoist makes quality products. I own their HF985 half rack smith machine. Thinking about getting this leg press/hack squat machine. What is the dimension of the upper leg press foot plate?
@@beinghere4358 for the leg press plate it is 23”x10”
@@BasementGymreviews that helps. Thanks for the quick reply. You have nice gym setup.
@@beinghere4358 thank you I appreciate it. Trying to fill up the whole basement with gym equipment by the end of the year
Great gym. Do you even lift?
beautiful home gym bro, looks like you could get some good work in there
@@codyaims thank you I appreciate it. It’s my most favorite part of the day. After work I get a really good workout no more waiting around for equipments and don’t have to worry about what’s happening around me
@@BasementGymreviews i feel you brother. same. nothing like listening to music and pumping weights out at your own house. nobody around to bug you, don’t have to wait on any machines.
@@codyaims yea no more driving to the gym just to see every machines is taking. I love my home gym lost some fat and actually getting things done (seeing some muscle growth). Planning to fill up the whole basement with gym equipments
my biggest home gym mistake is making a home gym 😅
@@andie_pl no no no that’s the best thing ever.
@@BasementGymreviews the endless cycle of buying/selling and pain 💀
@@andie_pl that’s the best part. Slowly updating. You could just buy the best equipment and ship it to your home but that’s not fun. Sometimes you will find a stupid cheap price for something that worth 3-5 times more. It like winning a lottery. Like I bought a Titan lat tower for $200 dollars and they asked 175 dollars but I willingly paid $200, I haven’t seen any of them go lower than $1000 best feeling ever.
Why do you have so much stuff?
@@Gw49172 I would say that is like a cheat meal per week. It helps me keep going and make the gym more enjoyable. If you just have a pair of dumbbell or just power rack with a bar and some plates you will get boring and quit. That’s why I have so much stuffs to keep me entertained and wanting to keep going.
@@BasementGymreviewsperfect analogy
Lots of hard work but it turned out amazing. Well done!
@@kidbrown2010 thank you I appreciate it. Now I have more space for more equipments
done it before took 2 days with two people to move my equipment around. Just note we all purchase equipment before floor mats.
@@jbsbayarea1 2 days with two people you must have a lot of equipments. I don’t even want to think about it, it makes me sweating just thinking about it.
I've moved my home gym like 6x in last 4yrs. 10hrs each time...every time I say that's the last time it ends up not being last time 😅
@@JMOFOF518 to be honest I might be like you. Sometimes I like to move everything around. It gives me a refreshing feeling. It’s like joining a new gym
🤣😂 I am laughing because I feel your pain. I rearranged my garage gym about 3-4 times. I know what you mean when you say, “It’s painful.”!
3-4 times ! My gym is going to be the same for really long time. Specially I’m starting buying weight stacks machine
Nicely done....if u decide 2 get horse stall mats instead of leaving in sun or scrubbing...i used a ionizer afew times n it removed most off that terrible smell. I have garage setup n not as large as yours. If u dont buy a ionizer u could rent 1. But i have a Amazon one which works fine in a 1 or 2 car garage. I use the ionizer eom/ every other month 2 freshin up the gym. If u need a nx equipment suggestion, I got Bells of Steel cable tower plate loaded...I love it ... its a great addition 2 a gym n opens up alot of training options. Bolt it 2 wall trust me lol😮
@@EddieJames-u3n I’m thinking buying used horse stall mats so someone else could done it for me. I think about upgrading my Titan lat tower to the bell of steel lat tower. It is better designed for the low row. U should try the weight stacks I used to love plate loaded but after I tried the weight stacks I can’t go back.
Lol didn't think about used mats. Not sure if I want anyone else's blood, sweat n tears ...jk I've been secretly [ Hides from Wifey] searching for a 2nd BOS cable tower hoping 2 find 1 on market place🤞🙏
Nice setup, really like the DB rack and how the bottom slides out, nice work.
@@bearforce187 it was a great learning experience. First time doing it and it came out better than I expected. I also made a t bar row platform and Bulgarian split squat stand.
Great setup. Looks good
This is a great video and a fantastic gym. Love all of the plate loaded machines with a budget feel and getting them second hand. It’s so much better when you get everything cheap and reused!
@@HomeGymAustralia thank you and yes a lot of people getting them new and lose thousands of dollars. if I ever decide to sell them I will make some money after I used them for my personal goals.
Nice 👍 gym
@@victorvega8482 thank you. hopefully I can fill the whole basement up by the end of the year.
need some cardio equipment....
@@davidbeiler I do, the rouge echo bike, water rower and jumping rope and considering getting a treadmill as well.
man i wish i had this much space... great home gym!
@@RainOfChaos91 my goal is to have the whole basement fill with gym equipments. I’m halfway there
Nice setup! Wish I had a basement gym. My garage gym is dope but would love the extra space.
@@cn1fish there’s always upside and downside. I gave up on some great deals due to the 90° entrance. if I have a garage gym it will be so much easier.
Great home gym 👍
@@mawclw2003 thank you I appreciate it. This gym will keep getting better
Say the name of this animal 🐇 on next video...
bruh I'm jealous! I wish I had this home gym. Great job man!
@@whippedculture7633thank you I really appreciate it. This home gym will definitely be bigger and better. Just added few more machines and planning to add few more
Very nice, very clean 🦾
Thank you I really appreciate it
Thank you. Also love your DIY setups
Thank you, really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the video
great video
Thank you I really appreciate it
Nice gym. Thinking about getting this used right now. Was looking for a review and found yours. I was curious about your thoughts on the hack squat use of it. Can you do a follow up?
thank you I appreciate it. For the hack squat it feels great but the only downside of it is the floor plates is a little small like most of the combo hack squat and leg press machines. However I would still choose this hack squat because most of the hack squat machines bottoms out before you get stretch but not this one, really good stretche.
@@BasementGymreviews I have rogue 45lbs bumper plates. How many of these do you think I can get on?
@@BasementGymreviews 2.4” width
@@BasementGymreviews also exactly why I am leaning towards this. The stretch for hack squads is exactly what I am looking for.
@@bazintrickways3045 I just measured the plate sleeve you can load 11 and 1/2 inches each side
So much space in that basement so Jelly and good deals on the equipment. Long term If it were me I'd probably save up and invest in an entrance to the basement from the outside to to get in and out better. GL on your journey.
Yea this is a brand new house and didn’t notice the entrance to the basement could’ve added a outside entrance before building it. Thank you for watching and commenting I really appreciate it.
Is it easy to disassemble and put back?
Yes it is really easy to disassemble and assemble however I would highly suggest you have at least one or two people to help because the middle or the leg press piece are heavy(80lbs). Plus you have to put in while holding the two pieces next to it. So yea is easy but just one heavy piece that might need some help.
For multiple hand positions on tbar row, consider a back widow attachment or ironmaster’s ultimate row handle. They both can also be used for multiple grip seated row and pull-down variations. The ironmaster attachment can also be used for cable chest flys. You can also consider using a hex bar instead of Olympic for your tbar rows. It’s more space friendly and less of a hassle to set up
So I’m currently building a diy chest supported t bar row machine and it can change into normal t bar row machine so it is like a combo machine but I need a new handle so I will definitely look into your suggestions. After I finishing making the machine I will share it
Unattached the monitor on the echo. Maybe the battery is dead. It might be an easy fix. Also make sure the cable snap is secured to the monitor when putting it back or it won’t read your activity on the bike.
I opened the monitor and found out that a chip in the motherboard came loose. I think that the reason why the monitor isn’t working properly. It just missing the topside information of the screen. I couldn’t find anyone who could solder it back on or it would be expensive to fix it so buying a new monitor would be the best option.
Well done, my friend
Thank you for the support I really appreciate it
Very nice setup. Welcome to the home gym lifestyle. I’m willing to bet that eventually the whole basement will be filled with gym equipment. Enjoy the training.
@@Acesup1911 that’s my goal. The whole basement will end up with gym equipment. Just added some stuff, t bar row, pin select lateral raise machine(paramount) and more weight plates.
@@BasementGymreviews check out a belt squat also. Very good to have
@@Acesup1911 was debating on getting it and just got the hoist leg press/hack squat but definitely will add to the gym in the future
