Currently 15 years old, major Doctor Who fan and plan to make this scarf for my friend who’s a bigger fan than I am. These colors look very accurate! Using this video to transition colors as well, fantastic! :)
Same here!!!😁
bro that is too cool
Omg this is the best thing ever
Great tutorial. I'm making the Dr Who scarf and I'm going to use your method. TY
Awww! So cute!
Thank you. Easier than threading them in a needle
I know this video is really old but do you remember what brand of yarn you picked for your colors? I’m trying to make my own scarf and I’m having trouble deciding what I should use
2020 (we're on corona days and i'm here)
That’s fucked up.
10 years late, but thank you. I’m about to start this today.
Thank you for sharing this very important information. It will make all the difference to my scarf !
Wow hahaha awesome job! Glad to see someone else using the plans... let's race!
thank you :) How do you finish your row when you used the green yarn to the 7th stitch then how do u continue knitting when your main yarn is back before those 7 stiches at the begining of your row?
i found a baby bull snake stuck to some trap paper. i got him off. now i keep him as a pet :)
HOW DO YOU MAKE THATTT😂😢
Your site doesn't seem to work properly. I was wondering if I could contact you some other way about the colors I just chose. I'd like someones opinion on them.
I'm sorry to bother you, but the wittyknitter site is down and I lost my copy of the pattern and I can't find another one, and I'm like so close to crying because I can't find the pattern I was using, and I've been working on season 12 for so long could you please send me a pattern??
Try this link web.archive.org/web/20131209065050/wittylittleknitter.com/chapter-12/ Hope this helps.
This video is just what I needed, I've just cast on a Season 18 scarf for my son. Thank you Tara!
Weren't we knitting both colors together at the switch and then trimming the ends? I don't remember knitting with a doubled new color.
hi there, any way we can get a larger view.....the screen's kinda small
I don't crochet, funny thing is though I used to... In grade 3. But I forgot and learned to knit.
Thank you! I thought this would be harder :D -Badwolf hotdog out (actually come to think of it a hotdog made of Rose Tyler would be horrible...w/e)
I will fully admit that I SUCK at knitting. As for crochet, I'm worlds better at it. I've also found that the crocheted tunisian knit stitch makes it look EXACTLY like the knitted version. :)
I actually took Tara's advice and went to Home Depot and picked out the colors via paint chips. The colors are very accurate. As for other kinds of yarn, I just went to my local craft and yarn stores and matched the yarns with the pain chips. I know that red heart yarns have all the colors you would need for this and the other patterns as well. Hope that helps. :)
Also, could you maybe post an actual tutorial on making the scarf? I'm a beginner at knitting and would like to make a scarf of my own. I made one already using the knit stitch in crochet, but would like to make one properly. :)
Just out of curiousity, what size knitting needles do you use? Aluminum? Plastic? Bamboo? Any particular brand? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)
This is honestly the greatest thing ever. I used it for my Doctor Who scarf last year, but now I just use it anytime I need to switch colors. It saves so much time and effort of weaving the ends in after you're done.
Nicely done!
What kind of stitch is the whole scarf knitted in. I know it's chenille yarn. Too expensive. Can it be done in other yarns as well?
Is it best to add tassels before or after blocking?
By the way, how many tassels should I use?
Wonderful instruction! Thanks!
I've a question, how many knots do you usually do till you reach the end of the row? Also, what do you do once you reach the end of the row to continue on to the next row?
generally in mating season the males (which are often a bit smaller and slightly smoother skin) will have a dark almost black patch on their throats, whereas females are solid whitish yellow. Also, males will have some small knobs on the forelegs to hold on in breeding season.
i have always wondered how can you tell wether it is a male or a female?
Wonderful! That looks so easy. I'm getting ready to try a Season 13 and am presently working a swatch to test my gauge. I can practice this technique on the swatch before I can apply it to the actual scarf. Thank you so much!
LOVE.
I get the carrying of the strands when it's only the one-to-one color changes, but I'm getting to the point of changing between the three colors for one out&back row each. Are you still carrying all three strands for the sequence, since they should be covered by the crochet edge, or is there yet another technique for these parts?
Thanks! This is exactly what I needed to finish off the Dr. Who scarf I'm making for my sister!
is there anyway i can buy a dr who scarf off of you??? bought a 12 ft one from a site but it is not long enough for me..Im 6.1 and to loop it 2 times or 3 to make it look cool and still have a drag line does not work...Please let me know ...would like one wide like season 15 but hope it is long enough to prob 20 ft you think ...Im not the kind to make my own...
You make this look so easy! I'm getting ready to start on the Season 12 scarf, and your tutorials make me think I might actually be able to do this! :-)
Excellent thank you so much
I like how this is the cast on I have done since I started to knit! Almost makes me think making this scarf is meant to be XD
@andrewandmorph it's a personal preference, some are better at knitting and some are better at crochet. I started a crochet version of 12, but I can definitely see that a knitted version would be better for material consumption, and think the next one will be knitted.
thank you, that was really helpful :)
I'm about to buy my yarn for the Shada scarf for my son. I can't find the specific directions for how many rows of EACH color to begin. I'll keep clicking around until hopefully, someone sends me the link. THANKS, Judy
Thanks so much for posting this! I'm going to be starting on the Season 15 scarf in about a week and I was NOT looking forward to weaving in all those ends the hard way.
*few hrs daily
I only decided to learned to knit to make this scarf. I just finished making my first scarf which was your small child version and I love it! It took me under 4 days (few hrs fault) to complete it. I can't wait to begin the real thing!
Thank you! This was helpful. How do you end each row so that the scarf does not curl in?
Foil Faerie, it's garter stitch. It won't curl.
