SOULBLIGHTER
Hi there!
This has been an undertaking of mine for the past months. I wanted to get decent at making humanoid 3D models, so I decided to bring to life one of my favourite characters of my childhood.
The entire model has been made from scratch with Blender using its sculpting work suite.
Textures, animation and the rig has also been done with Blender.
The tension map system in this video uses this plugin:

I think depending where you look at him his pants are either blue or green. I think in Myth II was blue. Not sure at this moment.
@@alf_duc Green in the animation and in game. I converted and painted a mini to look like him. I would love to see this as a STL file for 3D printing :)

I had to double check quickly because "I like being right" ( jk ), in Myth II in game he wears blue pants, you can see that immediately when starting the levels "A Murder of Crows", "The Forge", and if you progress a bit into "Twice Born" you'll quickly see that he wears blue pants in clear daylight. But the cinematics of Both games he has green pants and in-game in Myth 1 he also does. As I said Bungie wasn't very consistent, or Soulblighter liked to switch up his wardrobe hahaha

Still remember playing the Demo of the Fallenlords at Bagrada. Couldn't wait to get my hands on the actual game. 10 years old and in all my glory.
Bagrada and crows bridge. Played those levels on repeat until my dad got me the full game. Was 10 years old too

I love this story. It inspired me to read the Black Company books by Glen Cook. Myth has many similarities to the Black Company.
There are a rare few games from our younger years that hold a special place in our hearts. In charge of battle weary soldiers against seemingly insurmountable odds, the fight against The Fallen was one we all trudged through. More specifically, I have fond memories of not only the single player campaign, but the innovative multiplayer that was almost unheard of in early days of the internet. The competitive clashes and ranking system left me yearning for glory. In my youth, only reaching the rank of emperor, the ranks of eclipse and moon seemed so far away. Can anyone link a google image search for all the multiplayer ranks in Myth TFLs. I can't find them. :P
I think Myth is a pretty cool guy. eh secures the next 1,000 year cycle of Light, uses dream magic and doesn't afraid of anything.

One of the top ten greatest games ever made. It was a heavy inspiration for my “Heavenly Realms” series of angelic war fiction. Loved the story, music, mystery, fan theories, mythos and cell-shaded cutscenes of Myth: TFL. Myth II had some awesome additions but Myth I was always a superior IP for its originality. And yes, The Chronicles of the Black Company by Glen Cook IS amazing and worth reading, especially for its inspirational purposes behind this unsung hero of the golden age of PC gaming.

I love my big box Myth 1/2 ❤ I play on win xp 32bit. Works great
At first i only played the demo, it had the first 2 or 3 missions and later i got the full game and experienced it's awesomeness. I was in highschool and seems it was a lifetime ago, but i can't forget the immersion and the chills i got listening to the journal entries and the struggle to keep all my men alive, talk about a blast from the past :)
Still one of the best games ever. Great story. Full immerssion. You never feel that you are winning. Insane level of skill required on higher difficulty levels. Loved every bit of it
Simply the beginning dream sequence with good actors where "kill him kill him" and 10 berserks beat the hell out of one man and he's taking it for a good period of time and the anguish of soul blighter too late to save his masters head as he turns to crows and departs.a good movie even that scene would be original

If Myth ever gets a remaster, it better have 2D animated cutscenes in it. that was one of the things that made it so memorable. 3D CGI cutscenes are cool and all, but these 2D cartoon interludes feel like a personalized stamp, letting you know just how truly unique Myth really is.

This game needs a remake. One of the finest of all times. I got so attached to every soldier that I've named. To see them survive the battles, get promoted and evolve. This was a unique experience. Also a piece of my childhood.

I would love to see these missions turned into short animated stories. Could you imagine a Love Death and Robots Myth version? Could you imagine seeint Berserks desperately tryint to kill The Watcher statue!?
I LOVE the narration for this game. So much so, I intend on incorporating it into my own story on the latest chapter. I'll probably be using the Myth story style for section of the future chapters.
I really miss this franchise
Spent untold hours playing and replaying the missions. One of my favorite games of all time. The narrator and music are large parts of why; some of the most effective scene-setting in the history of computer games.

‘You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain…’ Man, that was an amazing game series! And the difficulty was through the roof!
I wonder what the Fallen Lords feel about being turned villainous. Balor, Shiver, even Soulblighter. Dare I say, The Deceiver is the living example that these people were once heroes. He's clearly driven to the brink, but enough of his senses still are about him that he willingly works for the Light even if its for his own gain. Dare I say, I wonder if its possible to recruit Fallen Lords before they are uncovered by any Leveler. It's risky, but there must be payoff even if its one time.
I'd watch the anime.

I'm sure the creative teams behind Myth would agree that LOTR influenced them immensely.
@@snakeplisken6242 except the storyline ...right of course the fantasy "beings" dwarves, elvish men, etc but outside of that in and of itself this story is probably three times as violent and probably twice as strange whereas LOTR is entirely predictable and corny in comparison simply because of the lack of graphic violence in a book and movie that have elements of war in it.
@JackJohnson-tw7dz So you are comparing lord of the rings and thrones to the game play of Myth? Odd. Not to mention, you seem to simply dislike said books mentioned above. And overly defensive of Myth. I have been playing myth since it was released and can easily see the major takeaways from LOTR.

This franchise should be on Paramount plus...not a fuckin nameless individual ok fine John 117 is great but he is meant to represent everyone and deliberately is meant to be characterless...this is the franchise and story that should have 10 seasons with 1 million dollar episodes...fuck...the 7 paragraphs written 20 years ago in this spectacular example of writing in this journal carries itself light-years past John 117 fucking some scotish actress for no reason basically...cuz it's sexy 🤦 MYTH needs no sexy it's hardcore story telling and better than easily fuckin what the dragon series I don't even know the name in Showtime? Myth would have been 100 times better

I'm angry this game and this soundtrack and the writers and soundtrack producers and the executive producers of the franchise did all of both master piece games 10 out of 10 for the era of comp/video game game play story campaign and online multiplayer and Online MP way way way ahead of it's time maybe myth 2 ranking was a bit skewed myth TFL had perfect ranking....and a bit skewed back then is an absolute fuckin damn disaster cluster fuck trump bleach in lungs mess to fuckin a joke on terms of organization....back myth 2 a skewed.... compared to 2023 exactly my for said description for halo infinites organization
