In my case, my manager was bullying me along with the coworkers. They were able to hide their abusive actions because of his enabling. You’re absolutely right that they need to bother you because they see they’re irrelevant otherwise. I think maybe they hate that they’re jealous of you, because narcs see themselves as perfect, so they take their hate out on you. I believe I have cptsd because of their actions but I’m not able to take legal action.
