Hi there! I'm Misty Adamson, the creative mind behind Adamson Equestrian. My blog/vlog follows my journey as I try to get back in the saddle after several years of off and on riding and post hip replacement. Follow along with me and my Arabian gelding, Tino, as we both learn the in's and out's of being an equestrian!

Equestrian 2020 Year In Review // It's finally behind us!
I know this is 4 years late but one thing I noticed was how the owners tacked up all of them up, and even groomed them.If i was buying a horse I would definitely want to groom the horse myself and even tack them up, with the owners approval of course. When grooming and tacking a horse you can learn a lot from them, if I bought Jack and took him home just for him not to let me anywhere near him with a saddle or brush I’d be quite disappointed.Overall they all seem such great horses and were calm when tacking up I’ve been riding Saddleseat for 4 years, coming up on 5, I loved watching this video
As I live in Ohio this is a win
Were training aides allowed in this show? Because I noticed your riding in an training martingale.
It was an Academy class, so martingales are allowed for beginners.
1st horse - (Hunter) 2nd horse (Dressage) 3rd horse: Saddle seat Horse- I also would not put a youth rider on a horse with a long shanked broken snaffle, she should have been riding all three in snaffles, either half or full cheek. Rider has an excellent seat! She just needs refinement and some cue work-- but her basic seat is outstanding. Great job- I purposely wrote this before I saw which (if any horse was chosen) - Ive been a "r' rated judge and a trainer for 25+ years :) (PS - Try an American Saddlebred!!!
We're Arabian lovers! My mother in law is currently riding a half Arab, half Saddlebred and she is a doll. ❤️
Are these saddlebreds
Half Saddlebred, Half Arabian
I have watched this several times - I love these kinds of videos! I can’t help feel that this was a project for the wash rack! 😂 Just drag the whole tack box to the washing area and give everything a hose down before tying them in pillowcases and dumping them in the washer!
Absolutely beautiful!
Hi I stumbled across your channel and really enjoy it. I’m an adult rider too. I rode as a kid and just got back into riding a few years ago and I love it! I also ride hunt seat. Keep up the good work. It’s so fun and challenging!
It's a lot harder as an adult, but rewarding at the same time! Thanks for the sweet words and the encouragement!
Btw on my dads phone my barn is named legacy barn in caver I love my barn and your ❤
Congratulations, everyone🎉 but Aubrey and Noble pull your eye automatically. Noble is 🔥 he knows when he is in the ring
He definitely knows and loves his job!!!
They are a lovely pair together and produced a nice collected workout (he seems like acalm responsive horse who tries for hismum) 🎉❤ it is a shame there weren't other riders in the class to make it more fun for them in class 1
Is this a boarding barn or your barn? Just wondering bc your treating them all like there urs and also amazing video I was bored and could not find something to watch so decided to watch this
It's my mother in laws barn. Tino (the chestnut) is my boy. All of the rest of the horses inside the barn are my mother in law's, my sister in law and brother in laws. So, all family! Glad you found me. Thanks for watching! Hope you were entertained! 😉♥️
I’m your 300 th
You're the best!! ♥️
lol
❤❤
the mother gal has a good seat, good balance and excellent leg position which does not move in the trot or the canter; an enviable ss posture! the younger gal needs to learn NOT to bonk the horse with her heels in order to go forward, PRESS DONT BONK!! any ss judge will see the bonking heels and mark her down.
That was her first time riding a saddle seat horse and riding in a saddle seat saddle. Anyone is bound to make mistakes. SS horses have a completely different action compared to hunters which is what she was used to. It's hard to find a different balance at first, which is exactly what she was trying to do. Even seasoned riders aren't perfect. I think she's brave for not only wanting to try something different, but trying it on horses she didn't know which can be nerve wracking on its own. We try to focus on the positives first and foremost and go from there. Appreciate the comment! That's actually her Nana, not her mom! She doesn't age! 😆
@@adamsonequestrian4587 agreed; ive just never seen anyone heelbonk a ss horse, one risks a very sudden aggressive forward jump from the horse if you do that; and the older gal is a granny? what? im a granny and im sure i could not ride a ss horse with that great form! she must have plenty of ss show class experience to keep that posture!
@@Lauren-vd4qe She also shows hunt seat. I think she's rode saddle seat before, but not a lot. We have all said we're jealous of her seat and legs! She's just a natural horsewoman!
@@adamsonequestrian4587 totally! I wonder what eq discipline wd enable a person to have perfectly still legs like THAT!! i wd totally sign up for THAT!
@@Lauren-vd4qe me too. My legs are what I hate most about looking back at myself. Looks like I'm riding a bike...🤦
Great to see you back in the saddle 🎉🙂 hopefully more show video's this year too
I'm showing today in two walk/trot classes! Thanks for the sweet words! ❤️
Nice video. If things get that dirty, I would probably consider moving my horse, as the horse will have breathed in the same amount of dust/dirt in the time you've been gone.
I hadn't used my gear in over a year because of a job change.
@@adamsonequestrian4587 Still, extremly dirty and dusty, we had an old harness lying around at the barn, it hadn't been in use for 4 years, and it was a lot less dirty. I was just thinking that the dust and dirt cannot be good for the horses airways.
Well, you're making the mistake of watching 10 minutes and assuming my horse stands in his stall for 24 hours a day, which is not the case, while my trunk never moves. Also, I'm totally up for tearing the barn down completely and reconfiguring it if you're willing to put the money down! 😉
@@adamsonequestrian4587 I didn't assume that. I just expressed that the amount of dust would worry me. That's all.
They look fabulous! Great job to her and her pony ❤
I don’t think it’s her first time she is way to good 😀
Believe it! That was her first canter class. Weekly lessons help. That and being young enough to have no fear! 😉
@@adamsonequestrian4587 it must be the horse as well what a great pair I have a horse named derby who have a similar canter and is just so fun to ride and enjoy him
@@Zoe_equine They are a great pair! He's a rescue and such a good boy.
Bahaha
Relatable 😅
Love it lol 😂
For her first walk/trot/canter class she is absolutely amazing!
I read your first hashtag as #ovation 😂. I was confused when the video started!
Bahahahaha!!
I like the horse
He's a rescue!! Super good boy!
IASHA Spring Warm Up Show, Cloverdale IN. Showed there in 2018,19
Going this year? Maybe we'll see you there!
Very nice circle! You are doing great!
the last of us tv show comes out today
Yay horses shown with out stacks chains and soring!
Wdym?? This is saddle seat no 1 ever shows with stacks and chains
Wrong Breed
You're definitely thinking of the Tennessee Walker shows, but thankfully, stacks and soring will be outlawed soon!
sorry but I cant see anything English about this! Strange riding position on the horse and the hand position??? Cant see much pleasure either in this fancy dress class!
All very nice number 2 for her 3 for me lol
Funny position in comparison to English riders. Looks as though your stirrups are too long when you attempt a rising trot.
That bit certainly has long shanks.
I know this is titled “English Pleasure seat” but we don’t sit like this here in England. The rider is virtually sitting atop the horse’s kidneys. It must be very uncomfortable for the horse
Can someone please explain the rider’s position, virtually sitting on the horse’s loins?
Great to see you posting again! Keep it up :)
Best comment I've ever gotten! ❤️ Thank you for watching and for the encouragement!
@@adamsonequestrian4587 I’m happy to make your day like this! It’s a struggle as a small creator
@@Stephensjourney It really is! Do you have a channel?
This was so satisfying! How can things collect sooooo much dust in a barn?! Lol
I wish I knew! I'd make a ton of money if I could figure out how to keep things clean!!! 😂
All the dust that hay throws up im guessing, or random Taz from looney toons dust drive-by's lol
your riding way to far back on that horses back!
Saddle seat riders have to sit further back in their saddle than you do hunt seat. Otherwise, you'd get thrown off the horse from the massive amounts of power coming from their shoulder, which you would be impeding because you'd be sitting right on top of it. The horse wouldn't even be able to move freely.
This is soooooo satisfying! :)
Right?! 😂 It was a nightmare to say the least.... 😜
How have I never been here!?! Great video! I loved it!
You should go! And Freedman's is only a short drive away... 😜
🤣🤣
So cool! I’ve always wanted to go there
It's definitely worth the drive!
broth-super ~t ake care! 🤚
STOP blocking, nicking, and gingering the tails of horses. It’s abusive and belongs in the Middle Ages. Stop the abuse.
We don't do that and neither do we associate with people that do. Maybe stop judging before you know facts or show some proof of what you think you know prior to making comments like this. Our horses are spoiled, not abused.
i was adding a tail extender to his tail because his previous owner had cut it off and it was short. ozzys tail is not nicked, gingered, or braced. You are welcome to come visit him anytime. i wpuld never hirt my horse and you should be ashamed of yourself. i run a horse rescue for christ sake. i would never abuse a horse.
In India we have sindhi breed which is famous for gaited ( Indian Shuffle) motion
Will you guys be posting more soon? Love your videos
Yes! Should start uploading regularly again within the next few weeks! Thank you for your sweet comment. ❤️
how are the saddle seat horses?
Now this is absolutely beautiful to watch 😍 I saw some horrific videos yesterday and it was painful to watch. This is so much nicer seeing the horses moving naturally with normal tails. I never realised they are so big. Well done and thank you ❤❤❤👏
Beautiful. Loll “Nothing like a little dirt in the face” so true!
HDR is what I’ve been looking at for a while. I’ve been riding in one and I think you made an amazing choice with saddle, I love hdr. I will probably get the memor x.
I absolutely love mine. It's a great saddle!
