Could I hear your experience about two points: 1. What's it been like lowering the wheels as you're about to come into shore? 2. With the wheels down vertically they're still well behind the center of gravity. How front heavy is wheeling the kayak around, such as pulling up a boat ramp?

Nucanoe with xi3 is the way to go IMO. I had a Titan 10.5 and made the switch to the unlimited last year. Having a fully open deck with no pedals in the way is so nice. If you plan to motorize especially with an xi3 Nucanoe has both Hobie and native beat IMO

Crank down the pedal arms really hard. Put more lithium grease in drive. On the inside put goop on rudder line. I have natives for years and great kayaks. When I worked in a kayak shop at a.c.k I saw hobie in our emergency room all the time for cracks and drive etc issues. Just got my native Titan X 12.5 last week and I think my only complaint so far, is just the rudder handle, I mean it works and sure you can buy a Burley pro metal handle but for a kayak that was almost $4,000 out the door, that stock rudder handle is so cheap feeling compared to everything else on the boat.

It looks like your anchor line just goes over the side of the boat into the trolley. Doesn’t it bind up from the weight pulling down on it? Also how did you mount it, self tapping screws? I want to put one and the same spot but I think I’ll have to run it from opposite side of my trolley through an eye bolt then through trolley

Jeez where's the stereo and speakers. Putting a boat like that on the ocean would be dangerous, Or the simple fact you have tons of tackle and you would be digging in the box is all the time and not paying attention to the swells, I don't believe kayaks are meant to be floating stores.

  • @donaldblank8873

Everybody has tons of gear, poles, batteries, tackle boxes ,tackle, very unnecessary, never a fish box, tank wells are always full of bags and boxes. Never a gaff holder. The most important thing on a kayak is open space. To move around. Stability. Place to put your fish. And a fat rudder so you can steer when you're on the water.

I was about ready to pull the trigger on one of these with a couple of power poles, and a cheap trolling motor, but by the time I priced it out, it was within $2K of my bass boat. So, it was tough to justify. But, there's something beautiful about the practicality of a nice, decked out yak. And, they're getting better and better (and more and more expensive, unfortunately). @@basserbestt4063 You’re spot on about the boat….especially, the maintenance (I could write a book about that). If I didn’t live in FL, I would’ve pulled the trigger on a kayak years ago. Down here, the lakes that are perfect for kayaks (and there are thousands of them, literally) are almost all either private, or gov’t property, and won’t allow fishing of any kind. So, that just leaves the bigger bodies of water, which are huge (most of which are chains connected by a canal system), so you almost have to have a boat to fish them properly. That, and I have this really unique fear of being eaten by a giant alligator or 20ft python, and a kayak get’s me just a bit too close to those critters for my taste 😂. With all that said, they’re just a blast. I owned a Hobie when I first moved hear, and it was amazing on every level. I may still have one to compliment the bass boat, now that Hobie has some really nice competition at a much better price. Glad you’re enjoying it, that was fun to watch.
