Let's wait and see. So far, I only think this may apply to the first episode, but who knows what lies ahead. So far, the show seems to revealed that in WandaVision she truly was the villain (which I doubted - thinking that as she is Wanda's mentor in the comics, maybe she was just testing her - or at least meant to do that in the beginning). My best guess, though: While she may get worse on the Witches' Road, at the end I believe she will have turned from the (kind of relatable) villain to an antihero - or maybe even a proper good person. Time will tell us soon.

Yes, I think there was a lot of ego involved for her to get that job back instead of aiming higher. By the way, the scene that bothered me was the one on stage close to the end, which was so cartoonishly exaggerated and didn't meet the tone the rest of the movie presented. It felt out of place, just to rub an additional message in. Happy, though, that it still worked fine for you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Plus, it seemed that she took her old job back because that's what she's always known, and her slimy boss is who she seems to know the longest in her career, so it's a comfort thing. That's what I got from that anyway. Yeah, I Immediately thought it was that scene that bothered you. It did go to a level of camp, especially when some of the people stood up and started pointing and yelling at her (it was a weird tone), but I did like the scene. I think it worked for me coz it intertwined with the flashbacks from those talent judges saying all these criticisms. You hear them say stuff like 'she should have her boobs upto her face' or it was something similar to that and, well, the creature did. So she thought 'well, I finally meet the criteria of what they're expecting in terms of beauty'. But she now looks like...well, a creature. I can definitely see why you didn't like the scene, as it did reach a campy tone though. That's ok. And that's alright; I loved the film, but I definitely understand the criticisms of it too. And yeah, it's important to have nice conversations like this, especially with how social media discussions usually tend to go xD

Happy that you like it. The first two seasons are pretty solid. I just rewatched my video from 3 years ago. My style changed a lot. Would I do it again today, I likely would try to be a bit less mean - though I would stand by the ratings I gave. I think, with a proper budget, that could have been a great show throughout its entire run - and not just solid for the first two seasons. Let me know once you caught up if you agree that the quality was declining with each season. I do hope, though, you will be able to enjoy it more than I did 😊

@@MichasBreakdown I’m watching the episodes a little out of order and agree the quality of the show does dip. Although, still very happy I found this. Considering how some of these stories were published in ec comics, and now knowing the first couple of seasons were done by hbo, it’s like I’m watching a prequel to Tales from the Crypt. I especially loved “there was an old woman.” If you took that episode, added some gore and curse words, it would fit perfect with TftC.

Yes, there were some solid ones in the beginning. After all that time it took me to get through them, I honestly don't remember much about that particular episode, though. I might rewatch that one. Thanks for sharing that detail.

I agree. There are rare exceptions, like Carpenter's The Thing, which was a great remake. But to be a remake that is worth our while, you really have to get a new angle and tell us something different.

I get your point about the cannibal movies from Italy in the late 70s and 80s. When I became a horror fan in the 80s, I still stayed away from those due to their reputation of being drastic. I still haven't watched them to this day, but for a different reason: Most of them contain animal snuff which I can't stand. The Italian zombie movies from that period also had a bad reputation, but over the last 2 decades, I watched many of them and some are pretty solid and other Italian horror stuff from that era are also very interesting and highly watchable. And I do love the Giallo genre, which is a bit of a mix of horror and thriller. Those you might like, too. "The Spider Labyrinth" had some Giallo elements, though I would not consider it one.

I don't remember that clearly, but I think he stayed in another time period for a while before they met again, while the others basically were picked up soon after they landed there.

Ya know what? I was wrong. I just went back and re-watched just those two segments carefully. They only removed the top two guns and left the lower two guns. When he shoots at Godzilla, there are only 2 lower guns. Originally I thought they removed the two right guns and left the two left guns. Good attention to detail by the director.

As always, not everyone loves the same things. You were giving the show a go, which is appreciated. It at least had a fair chance with you - which is as it always should be. I don't even know what exactly did it for me. It was for sure partially the mystery, then the exploration of the grey areas of the force - and maybe partially an act of defiance because some people were hating on the show before it was even released. Again, happy that you gave it a fair shake. Maybe the next Star Wars show ends up being a good fit for you. Fingers crossed. 🤞

I guess that depends on where you are located. Usually they should be available on Amazon, iTunes and Google Play to buy. There my be a streaming service in your region. In mine (Germany) for example, it is available on the Sky-service called WOW. Another way would be to get the DVD sets. They should be readily available globally for a cheap price. Hope this helps a bit.

I've got DVD copies of seasons 1-6. I got them via gift but my-then wife likely bought on-line. No store in Bakersfield, CA would sell Law and Order--not classy enough

Greevey and Logan were dedicated partners but had differing views on abortion, cap punishment and religion. Chris Noth, playing the junior detective Mike Logan, had hoped for a younger partner that he would supervise but the producers of L/O refused to budge on their plan for Logan to only be a jr detective and Jerry Orbach was brought in to play Det Lennie Briscoe aft Sgt Phil Cereta(Paul Sorvino)'s being shot and wounded in the line of duty.

Personally, I almost saw it the other way around, as the environmentalists are basically the idiots/bad guys here and the plan to save the world was to annihilate an entire new species, which all did not sound woke to me at all. Thanks for commenting. Some interesting points there. For me, right now the best parallel would be the Sokovia Accords in the MCU - where you are forced to register or get imprisoned. I mean, for sure Qimir is the bad guy right now, basically being a terrorist. All I mean is I think his motivation is interesting and somewhat understandable. Maybe he wouldn't have turned out that way if he could have lived in the open. It is a tough one for sure, but that is why I like this show, as it shines a light on those grey areas. I quick counterpoint, though: Ezra Bridger was dabbling with the dark side and didn't succumb to it, so there may be a middle ground after all.

@@MichasBreakdown I understand your point and generally I would tend to agree with Qimir's point of view being understandable (it's definitely interesting). But one has to be pretty adamant (dogmatic?) on this. The whole point of the Dark Side is to come up with believable excuses. The Ezra example is perfect: even ignoring the fact that his Dark Side period was a bit of a fanservice, it's not unheard of for darksiders to be redemeed. We've seen Ventress and even Vader. But the point is you can't keep using the Dark Side "for good" and stay good. Besides they might just be exceptions. I think it's very alluring to find alibis and motivations (which might be real) for Dark Side users but we gotta remember that in SW Good and Evil are very real and the Dark Side is indeed Evil. Back to Rebels, the Bendu tried to stand in between and Ezra himself schooled him about the importance of picking a side.

What I really would like to see is if there really is only the light and dark side of the force - or if there is something in between people like Qimir could have leaned into (if he would have chosen to go dark to rebel against the current system). Admittedly, I don't know all the lore and and backstories from books and such, so maybe that is already covered somewhere - but I really think those topics are the most interesting.

@@MichasBreakdown I don't know 100% of the lore either and either way some aspects of the Force are still up for debate. However there are often misconceptions (some in bad faith) about this "middle ground" and "balance between Light and Dark" There is no "Light Side". There is the Force and there is the Dark Side, the corruption of the Force. The Force itself IS the balance, and the Jedi, by following the will of the Force are in balance. That's why the theory of Anakin restoring balance to the Force by killing the Jedi was pretty quickly debunked. Qimir would still end up evil (well he's clearly evil already) even if at start he really just wanted freedom. The power of the Force without the counterbalance of rules ("dogmas") and ethics will inevitably corrupt the user. One has to master their emotions first, the Force second. It's literally like if you had superpowers without VERY solid moral values. It's not stuff for the "common folk", you have to be trained for years.

I totally get your point. Still interested in seeing what they do with it and if they shine a bit of light on the grey areas - which they seem to have done with the next chapter. Interesting stuff for sure.
