Prayer is talking to God. It's a privilege to be able to just have a conversation with the Lord of the universe, king of kings. Yes...just sharing your heart. It's not begging. It's a loving relationship.

This exhortation seems also suited to Pastor Perry’s rehabilitation! He’s endured, is pressing on, and has expanded his ministry to include his treating medical staff and professionals!
Great lecture- thank you for making this series available. Question: Pastor Perry ends with the statement, "ultimately the canon rests on the character of God, that if He took the time and effort to transmit it to us, he would protect it and make sure we receive it accurately." (paraphrased) How should we respond to people who believe the sacred texts of other religions are also from God and that He has protected their transmission as well?

This is a great question, thank you for asking it. Renowned dispensational theologian, Dr. Charles Ryrie writes: "Dispensationalists claim that their principle of hermeneutics is that of literal interpretation. This means interpretation which gives to every word the same meaning it would have in normal usage, whether employed in writing, speaking or thinking." (p.86 Dispensationalism Today 1979) "Covenant theologians are well known for their stand on allegorical interpretation especially as it relates to the prophetic Word and they are equally known for their amillennialism which is only the natural outcome of allegorizing." (Ryrie, p. 20) Hope this helps answer your question.
