If you don’t want guns banned, than we have to take reasonable *precautions* to prevent guns from getting a bad name by keeping them out of the hands of criminals. Everyone can agree on that. As a responsible and law abiding firearms owner, I am fine with the long-gun registry, it was a good idea. The long gun registry *prevents criminals from obtaining firearms through straw buying* I can think of many people I know who are currently in possession of firearms despite being prohibited because of criminal convictions. As for the cost of the registry, ask yourself, how much do you think it costs to investigate & prosecute gun crimes? If you can prevent criminals from getting their hands on firearms in the first place, that’s money saved and less crime in society.

"Middle ground" seriously? If new policy is detrimental and discriminatory to part of your members, e.g. 10%. You should protect and fight for those 10%. Not to seek a middle ground excuse to push them under the bus, while pretending that you are doing something ...

"We cannot hunt with handguns, why do we care?" --- WHY you cannot hunt with handgun? There are a lot of hunting handguns and people hunt with them in other areas of the world. The hunting handguns are also very save as they are powerful enough to get the game, but offer large bullet drop to avoid accident if you miss a game. So why you cannot hunt with it? That's right, some time ago you LOST the fight and failed to protect them, so government prohibited them from use for hunting. So, it is not that you cannot hunt with a handgun, but the government prohibited their use for hunting. That's the big difference. Did government stopped after that prohibition? No! It will keep going for more and more guns until they ban them all along with hunting.

We are wasting all this time on the fine print and other details when the only discussion we should be having is how do we get rid of this Government. We must push out the Liberals, and actively work and put our effort to elect firearms friendly politicians. Also the importance of the Senate to stop these "stupid" laws.

Have you developed an app for the reporting yet? Also if reporting was done one the app sooner could more tags for moose or deer be offered with a media/app release of a cut off if you haven’t filled your tag.

Dear OFAH I was just wondering if your Federation would voluntarily dismiss yourselves from the provincial big game advisory committee for tag allocation. Here in Northern Ontario concerned hunters have reservations of your bias and symbiotic relationship with NOTO and our MNRF. It’s time for a change to have equity in the representation for the Northern Ontario hunter for our provincial moose hunter tag allocation .Circulation of a petition to remove your federation from this process will be forwarded to a MNRF ombudsman .

Northern Ontario sportsman say no to the OFAH and keep them south of the Mattawa and French rivers .

Poaching should never be an option although I think we in Northern Ontario should be more cognizant of this special interest group called the OFAH and the symbiotic relationship that exists between them NOTO and our MNRF . Northern Ontario sportsman must shut off this shameful Federation when negotiating our moose hunting privileges to a demographic of higher paying hunters . I seen how your federation answered the call when dealing with access issues and the restrictions imposed by MNRF to our crown lands for our Anglers and Hunters . And it was not in favour of the Ontario sportsman. Your federation aligns itself with NOTO and is nothing but a special interest group that receives income from our Government. When the European came to Canada fish, forests and lands and animals were plentiiful.Deer and moose are sick and soon if a stop to hunting till they are well and multiply the moose and the deer will be no longer be here.Government and Algonquins need to get these poor animals then argue who has the right to kill them.Our water is in terrible shape and the fish are sick from Mercury and other cancer causing chemicals. I talked to a guy at shoppers drug mart that told me he was headed up north to his privite property to poach a moose with out a tag. I called him out and he said its his property and can shoot what he wants. We need to educate non hunters on game seasons so that people know about poaching

I have noticed a huge drop in lamprey in Lake Ontario over the past 6-7 years. Almost every salmon/trout used to have lamprey marks or lampreys themselves on them and now I barely see any evidence of them on the salmon/trout. The lampricide is must be doing a number on them
