Celebrating the New Year in Islam: An Explanation
In Islam, every action is judged based on the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. While there is no direct mention in Islamic sources about celebrating the New Year, we can understand its ruling by referring to general Islamic principles and guidance.
General Islamic Principles
In Islam, acts that involve gratitude to Allah, lawful enjoyment, and beneficial outcomes are permissible. However, any activity that includes disobedience to Allah, imitation of un-Islamic customs, or wastefulness is prohibited.
