The suggestion here seems to be to escalate surveillance in our homes, workplaces, and at a "national security" level. Would these monitoring systems be commissioned by the US Intelligence agencies? Private sector? How would they be configured to flag problematic information? Can we ensure their long term reliability ? What happens to people, organizations, and media outlets that are flagged by such systems? Are they blocked? Is a negative rating applied? Would you trust President Trump's ODNI to oversee this the same as Biden's ... or Elon Musk? Or any other future far right or progressive administration, corporate leadership? You see where I'm going here. Your intentions seem noble, but surely you see the havoc such an approach would impose.
