A Celebration of the Life of Kathryn K Stowe
The family will be receiving guests beginning at 10:00am on Saturday, September 14th. A memorial service will follow at 11:00am. Guests are invited to stay for lunch immediately following the memorial, which will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1717 Church Street, Wauwatosa, WI In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
Kathryn Klug Stowe was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 9, 1936. She passed on to eternal life on August 15th at the age of 87. Beloved daughter of Alice Porter Klug and Norton Klug, Katie is survived by her three sisters Mary Voell (Robert), Judy Pease (Dick), and Ann Rolando (John). She is also survived by her daughters, Susan Nash (David), Elizabeth Stowe, and Mary Schneider (Carl), and her grandchildren, Rachel Nash and Christopher Sharkey-Stowe.
Katie was a graduate of Wauwatosa High School and the University of Wisconsin Madison and a longtime member of the parish at Trinity Episcopal Church in Wauwatosa. In 1978, Katie founded Family Montessori School, which was located at 5806 West Burleigh Street in Milwaukee. Katie later became a lead teacher in the Head Start program at the Milwaukee Urban Day School, retiring in 2000. Katie was loved by her family and friends and would lend a hand on a moment’s notice. She was a voracious reader throughout her life and would often get caught up in a book for hours. Katie was a dancer in her youth and a longtime ballet patron-especially when her daughter or granddaughter was performing-and always enjoyed the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. Katie was an animal lover, and her favorite cat, Max, was usually to be found on her lap when she was watching a Milwaukee Badgers, Bucks, or Green Bay Packers game. She also enjoyed summer outings to American Family Field to watch the Milwaukee Brewers play. Katie loved to tailgate and dine outdoors, and her favorite foods were anything with cheese - especially pizza. She loved the ocean and the beach and was fortunate to have spent many family vacations at her parents’ house on Longboat Key, Florida and with her extended family at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Good morning
Pozdrowienia z Polski
Good morning
This was a wonderful holiday organ recital and I enjoyed it so much. trinity Episcopal Church is so lucky to have such a talented Director of Music and Organist !
Good morning
It was great to visit your church this past Sunday. I loved the liturgy, the preaching, the choir, the welcome, and the stained glass! Peace and light from Arlington/Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Nice quote from Sue! “Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God”
Rest in peace, Mark. From Jackie Gould Dufield, your classmate at Lincoln Jr. High School and Prospect High School (class of 1973)
Good afternoon
❤
For anyone who was watching the livestream, or will watch this recording, I thought I'd post a comment that I am fine. I felt incredibly faint, and rather than pass out, I asked for assistance. Thankfully, I was blessed to have both a physician and a priest in the house and they were amazing! I will do better about making sure I have breakfast and plenty of H2O on hand in the future!
A prayer for Juneteenth (from ELCA.org): Holy and righteous God, you created us in your image. Grant us grace to contend fearlessly against evil and to make no peace with oppression. Help us, like those of generations before us who resisted the evil of slavery and human bondage in any form and any manner of oppression. Help us to use our freedoms to bring justice among people and nations everywhere, to the glory of your Holy name through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Pentecost by William Blake Unless the eye catch fire, The God will not be seen. Unless the ear catch fire, The God will not be heard. Unless the tongue catch fire, The God will not be named. Unless the heart catch fire, The God will not be loved. Unless the mind catch f ire, The God will not be known.
I am asking for prayers for my stepdaughter, her wife, and their baby daughter who live in Tel Aviv and for the Palestinian people, who continue to suffer injuries, death, and the destruction of their homes and businesses by one of the best-equipped militaries in the world.
Let us pray for all mothers and for those killed and injured in the Kabul bombing and for those injured in the Times Square shooting.
As mentioned in today’s sermon, here is the link to the sheep video: ua-cam.com/video/4DZNMgiqFYE/v-deo.html
Prayers also for the families and friends of Daunte Wright and Adam Toledo.
Prayers for the victims of the 147 mass shootings in the U.S. since January 1, 2021 and for our cities including Minneapolis and Philadelphia which are under military occupation.
It is essential for Christians to remember that it was the Roman Empire via the murderous Pontius Pilate and not Jewish people who crucified Jesus. Pilate needed no persuasion to crucify anyone who opposed him and the empire, having ordered the crucifixion of thousands at one time.
Rest in power and peace.
Let us pray for the family and friends of Breonna Taylor, who was killed one year ago yesterday.
I miss my church so much. I think we are right to protect the lives of people by not meeting in person, but even though I am not the lawyers or doctors our pastor thought most of the congregation was, (lots of city people with blue-collar jobs have no other close Episcopalian church near) I never felt unwelcome. I want to go back so bad, but not until it won't endanger our society. Our bishop has not always made the kindest choices but the churches still being closed is the best thing he's done.
Beautiful bells!
Let us pray for the United States to turn away from war and violence toward other countries.
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“We are not to simply bandage the wounds of victims beneath the wheels of injustice, we are to drive a spoke into the wheel itself.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer
With apologies for the earlier processing failure, please enjoy this week's service for the Second Sunday after Christmas.
Kyle Oliver 👏
Thanks, John!
You’re welcome!
Good morning from Bob and Julie
Let us pray for the eight people who were injured when a man shot them at Mayfair Mall two days ago, and for the courage to take effective steps to end gun violence.
Wow. Median income means nothing. I only know bankers and IT upper management that make over 43k in Wisconsin. Those of us trying to make enough for a 90k house that needed 10k of new roof are just nothing.
Let us pray for those of the Trinity members who aren't the often mentioned doctors and lawyers who are suddenly out of a job despite the promise that "skilled labor" was a ticket to being middle class. We are spending down our savings. Unemployment hasn't paid in months after applying.
Let us pray for Ruby Bridges, who at age 6 desegregated the William Frantz School in New Orleans 60 years ago yesterday.
I miss sitting in that building so much. Not enough to risk the lives of those around me, but still. I miss the way the colors of the stained glass cast colored light on the heads and faces of those on one side of the isle. I miss the hugs and handshakes, even though I am not so social. Between now and eternity, I miss Trinity.
There may not be so many views, but those of us that come to this video, we really need it. It is a blessing. Thank you.
That was a challenging and potentially life-changing sermon.
Thank you Gary for taking on this important issue without flinching.
That was one of the powerful and meaningful sermons I have ever heard.
One of the evil powers at work in our country is white supremacy. Unless I have missed it, our Presiding Bishop has not clearly denounced white supremacy. His video on the 25th anniversary of the Oklahoma City terrorist bombing did not mention white supremacy at all, even though it was a white supremacist terrorist act. That is not good enough.
It is not mercy for someone who enslaved others to grant relief from debts, because the “master” should not have imposed those debts or that enslavement to begin with.
Racial reconciliation cannot occur until we recognize, call out, address, and work through the issues related to systemic racism, including in Wauwatosa.
It’s not easy for me to believe that God is making all things new right now tbh.
Let us pray that racist eyes are opened to another way, a way of love and acceptance; and open the hearts of the oppressed to healing and forgiveness ,
Let us pray for Jacob Blake and his family, and also for the families of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, both of whom were shot and killed by a teenage white supremacist in Kenosha.
Good morning from Bob and Julie
This weekend, I am remembering our parish member Mark Batory, who was killed at his home two years ago yesterday, and his family. I am also praying for the many other victims of gun violence in our community and everywhere.
Thanks Tabitha for your excellent singing today.
Premiere function was mis-scheduled this morning. The video is now live for all to play back - click PLAY on your own and enjoy!
