So - Ive adopted your way except to date not used a ramp. Been lucky I guess. However. Initially it’s great. But I found issues with the bathroom door being off centre after levelling. Why I wondered? Doh!! I have an internal water tank. My levels were always before I filled the tank. But after it was full the neutral position had of course moved. Dammit. Dunno if anyone else has that issue -😊 I d like to know though. So my plan next time is to get it as level as I can then fill and then re level. Interestingly when I have the van on the road outside the house it’s never a problem - so the weight and less stable ground does matter. I may just buy a milenco wheel rack (😅it’s got a proper name, so I don’t need to fuss moving onto a ramp. I do like your vids tho mate. Keep on doing them!

I had the same issue on my 2012 Conqueror.....i was in the South of France where i leave my caravan for 9 months of the year. Spoke with my insures Tower Gate who were fantastic. Agreed to cover the cost of the repair at a Swift Dealer near Bergerac. Its definitely a manufacturing fault. The silicon rubber seal that allows the glass to flex during movement becomes hard over time and this is what creates the cracking. The repair guy said that the silicon rubber seal has now been upgraded and no longer losses its flexibility. Total cost to have a new one fitted including all the silicon sundries glass and labour was £2.5k ......thanks Tower Gate Insurance.👍

Exact same thing happened on my 2014 Swift Elegance I got it replaced on my insurance but the repair shop made me wait a year because they told me the window had to be made for it abroad. Do you think they were telling me a porky to be honest if I had known it was that easy I would have done it myself if I knew where the windows come from..

Think I saw your 'van in storage. The only reason I spotted it is because the trees separating the 'vans had been removed and you are almost opposite us. Obviously will not mention the storage.

I have a swift as well they say £800 to £1000 to fit one, I believe the dealers cut it out as well to change one. Looks like you have done a good job looks well.

Do you have a smart alternator on your tow car ? If so how do you manage charging the battery from the car as I’m under the impression that a DC to DC charger might be required .

That was one of the first things I did when we got our sprite. I mounted both the pump and surge damper on rubber grommets. Shortened the pipes as the fittings were pushed up against the hinge and resonating on the wood (just as your ones are).And lined with sound deadening mats. Made a massive difference.

Same thing in our motorhome, pump mounted on back wall under french bed. I did the same thing with rubber washer mounting, also bought some egg box shaped foam as ive used this in applications when i was an engineer. Also i fitted a one way water valve before pump as sometimes water drains back and may struggle to pull air/water on start up. Great video by the way. 😊

I am sick to death of my caravan..it cost over £32000 less than a year ago and everything seems cheap quality..I will never buy another swift challenger again or any other caravan

12V straighteners are available. My wife's (I have a similar hairstyle to you) came from Streetwise &, apparently, whilst they aren't as good as mains versions they do the job.

I have just bought a 2016 Freedom sunseeker caravan. The 1rst owner had at truma (trauma) motor mover on it. I am very unimpressed with it 1 it adds extra weight 2 it is faulty on the N/S the motor makes a grinding noise and doesn't work like a gearbox cog is stripped I strongly suspect (made in China). Most of the caravaners on UA-cam say caravan movers are great (do they know how to reverse a caravan?). I live in a tourist area in Scotland and about 70%-80% of caravaners/campers don't have a clue how to drive correctly. Are these caravan movers aimed at the type of caravaners other road users dislike? I have thought hard about any advantages and the main 1 no-one on UA-cam mentions is avoiding clutch wear if the mover is working.Enough of my rant I enjoyed your video and hope you are the 30% of good caravaners.

The same thing happened to my 2021 swift 580, this is a built in fault so I’m expecting it to happen again, Swift don’t seem to have answer to the problem.

I block the waste outlets, using 2 old champagne corks, sanded diwn to the correct diameter. Then fill the drains with disolved washing soda crystals and leave overnight, then flush. Also works with Collapz drain pipes, create a U shape, fill with the soda mix, then link the two ends together to form a circle, trapping the soda solution. Again leave overnight and flush with clean water.

Thanks for this video, our caravan is only 8 months old and used on 3 separate weeks holidays so far, we have noticed our kitchen sink is taking longer to drain, but looking at the way the pipes are secured under the floor and the way droop and hang low in places causing water traps, there’s no wonder they start to clog up, so, thanks for your cleaning tips which I will use immediately 🍻

9:00 Just get a piece of wood for a plate, that matches your old holes. The screws on the right will screw into the wood, and the wood will screw into the wall. On the left just add width of wood, and get two longer screws. On the right, yeah just get two longer screws that compensate for the wood width/depth.

Hu could you tell me if you have done anything about the charger coming from the rowing vehicle so you can run fridge on battery when travelling cheers

The toilet block is the let down of this site .i have been camping and caravaning there for well over 50 years the toilet block was put in when the site was council owned , over the years it went into private ownership , then haven ,and now park dean the site and pitches have changed but the toilet block is unchanged … best ever moment was years ago when the police chained up a tent due to it being used for “ business “ by a couple of ladies from Bristol 😀😀😀
