2010 Stanley Cup On-Ice: Adam Burish
In 1998, Hossa was injured in the Memorial Cup Final and never got to have the skate with the Memorial Cup alongside the Portland Winterhawks. 12 years later, he finally got his skate with the Stanley Cup!
This was Montreal's equivalent of Boston's "Curse of the Bambino". Montreal cursed themselves for 100 years by letting Roy go. And as a Avs and Bruins fan, I couldn't be happier reveling in Montreal's downfall.
The balls McTavish had!
Tremblay did Roy dirty. But Patrick to a shower, cleaned up and hoisted the Stanley Cup later that year leaving Trembly with egg on his face that can never be washed off!
Lets be honest, Detroit Red Wings were unstoppable with the fantastic 5. Sergei Fedorov, S. Yzerman, Slava Kozlov, Slava Fetisov, and Igor Larionov
Montreal fans the typical garbage scum slime they are lol he left Montreal not because of the coach, but because of you guys. Most garbage fan base in all of sports and the narrative is Montreal fans cry and scream about how it’s the coaches fault that he left and how they loved him as if they didn’t boo him right out of Montreal hahahahaha losers
tremblay shoulda been fired during the game 🤬
they did not show what he did?
I called him Waah after this stunt. Never liked the clown
Before that game, Mike Vernon actually bumped into Patrick in a diner near the forum, and they talked… Pat actually wanted to quit, but Mike said, “Hey, don’t quit.. Why don’t you ask for a trade instead?” And we all know what happened after that!
6 months later he hoisted the Stanley cup. And again 5 years later. 4 cups. A fantastic career.
I love the ("BRUINS") and I wish that Patrick Roy would had played for them instead after playing with the ("HABS").
1:58 That's a fuckin lie. Tremblay was 3 feet away. Cool story!
Trading a horse for a rabbit
What a mad man idc how uncomfortable that helmet is I'd be on his ass about it and over time of wearing it u eventually don't even notice it esspecially while your playing using your focus on the game not how your shirt feels or your helmet or the skates etc
Wheres kyle beach?
Warren Strelow
Oh the arrogance of the Montreal staff! Fitting that Roy would win a Cup with another team that same year, while Montreal STILL hasn't won a Cup as of June 2024, 29 years and counting!
I just want to come back 15 years later and experience this again! Life flies! Loved this Penguins team!
Detroit played themselves. Roy stole 2 cups from them when he played in Colorado. They should have stopped scoring after 4 or 5. Also Mario Tremblay is so wrong for treating Roy as just another goalie. Not only was he amazing, but he was the face of the franchise and beloved by all of us québécois.
We never have won since that day
As an avalanche fan I can say that Trembley may be my favorite coach of all time.
Thanks for the two cups Montreal. I’ll always respect you for treating him like this and sending him our way
If they had benched Roy after it was 5--1 which they should have done instead of 9--1 then he wouldn't have been nearly as mad & probably would have stayed in Montreal maybe
Bittersweet day as a Red Wings fan. Ken Holland (Wings GM) should have said to Roy, get on the plane, lets win 5 cups in a row.
I read somewhere that Tremblay and Roy had some beef as teammates. Even as coach, I heard in practice, Tremblay would shoot pucks, aiming at Roy's neck
An off night happens to even the best. They should’ve pulled him after the 3rd goal. Don’t blame how he felt.
Just goes to show who knows hockey best.... players or 2 stiff suits who are clueless..
Thanks for this wings
Je pars avait dit
Worked out for the great Patrick Roy. The HC was 100% wrong.
Humiliated. Even arguably the greats are aloud to have a “head game” I stand behind Roy’s decision. Outstanding goalie under Stanley Cup playoff pressure. Colorado said Hell Yeah, plus Keane! A Swiss Army knife of a player, again “Clutch” in the playoffs.
Those fans didn't deserve him anyone knows that team and blueline left him out there to get slaughtered the coach too!!
Without Patrick Roy.....Mario Tremblay is a janitor. Habs were nicely fleeced in that deal. They will never win again. Good. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
the curse of the raw... daaaaang, hey what did the leafs do to deserve their curse
Roy was and still is a baby.
RED army of detroit
And it's been 30 years since their last Cup...don't shit on your goalie!!
Something had to change
i saw this, and after what came next was a fan forever! if he stayed id of barely remembered it, Fkn A st Patrick
Dude was just lucky he didnt get injured...
Roy was such a prick though and still is...
The best of all time ? Goalie! These legends dont clme often......
Come often
What song is used? Thank you
Im sure it has already been posted. Can you BELIEVE!!! the smug ARROGANCE!!! this NOTHING PLAYER!!! NOTHING COACH!!! showed???!!! Of course Im biased as a super Patrick Roy supporter. I was 12 during the 1993 playoffs and just enjoyed hockey until then. But during the Nordiques first round, I noticed Roy and ever since Ive supported psychotically(not sure this even a word) Montreal and Roy. I once had RDS and the first time I watched that channel, I WAS SHOCKED that NOTHING was working there. Did those handling French media back when Roy was traded have NON IDEA who the reason Roy was traded???!!!???
And Mario Tremblay standing there like a typical arrogant Fr$#n#hm@# who has NO clue that HE is the problem
Habs have still not recovered from that day
Thanks for pointing out that Roy was much more mad at the Montreal fans than the team. Yes the team played like crap, and the coach probably should have pulled him after 5 goals. But that mocking cheer from the fans at 7-1, man. That sealed the deal. Can't believe the fans throw Roy under the bus after years of service, when the team that night was non existent.
They punished him 4no reason..they refused to pull him and let him suffer.as a detroit local and fan, i reveled in it that night.but they did him dirty.roy is a hell of a talent and he proved it in the end.respect
😀😃😄😁😆😅😂🤣
