T'is The Swarming Season
Переглядів 383 роки тому
We were able to catch this swarm, luckily. this is a good example of why having a bee vacuum ready to go is always a good idea. We were late in noticing swarm cells, we added a box and cut out the cells but they just built them again, evidently.

MooShu "Brown Cow" visual pregnancy check March 9, 2021
Переглядів 353 роки тому
I went out to check on the girls this morning. Mushu (aka Brown Cow) was first exposed to a bull in June of last year, putting her first possible deliver date as March 26. I am taking the time to examine her movement and behavior more closely as we near the possible due date. last week I wasn't sure she looked pregnant at all, but today I think I felt bumping and noticed swelling in her vulva.

Highlights of Whitey Meeting Femu

First clip is all 3 emus together, female begins to present herself. The rest of the clips are the new male with the female. The male seems to be uneasy and seeks me for comfort. The female is behaving as if I may be a threat to her now, so I back off. In the end you can see she presenting and with the other male out of sight it seems we have maybe made a good match. The only concern now is if ...

If your scared of being stung by a bee just face your fears longs if you are not near there nest they have no need to sting you
My dad got stung by a bee the same exact way twice in his life. The first one was back in 1984 when was 5, he put his right hand on the wall and bee stung him which made him cry. Then it happened again in 2009 exactly how it did in ‘84. He put his right hand on the wall and bee stung him in the exact same spot as the sting of ‘84. He didn’t cry but it was painful. The spot on the palm close between the pinkie and the one that comes after the bird finger.
Thanks. This is pretty much exactly what I was planning to do. Except instead of big holes covered with mesh I was going to just drill lots of very small holes until the suction is right. I was also thinking of using a 10 gallon bucket, drilling the bottom say 1/2 like crazy, then putting that inside of a 5 gallon bucket to cover the holes while operating. So you can then separate the buckets and ventilate the bee chamber while transporting them.
Poor thing...but tending a hive with no suit?
Thank you this helped a lot
If you squeeze the area of the sting right after it happens. It won't swell as much. Removes a lot of the venom.
🇹🇷👍👍
FUN fact on how to not get stung by trying to get the nest down, USE bug spray
One sting , the bee releases a pheromone, that makes the lot of em sting you .
Yep, I learned that too but not with a hive. I was trying to put a wild swarm in a hive box with no suit on. I didn't know how much time I had to do it so I just went for it. My sister tried to cut the limb off that I was going to just lay on top of the hive, but the limb was to thick for her to cut it with the lopers I had so I told her to hold onto the limb while I cut the limb and she dropped it as soon as the limb got cut. We were both running to the house when we got nailed. it was over a 100 foot run to the door. We got hit several times. Those bees chased us all the way to the house. I don't know that I'd try that again without a suit.
You need to hire that woman on tik tok she never gets stung
Never? She is probably just used to it and does not get reactions, luckily.
😂 I've never been stung
Me neither
well you are blessed then!
I’ve been stung 7 times
im 18 nearly 19 and im literally playing survival mode rn to not be stung
Haha! Your lucky. Their stings hurt.
Think u got the wrong idea of what a compilation is
com•pi•la•tion kŏm″pə-lā′shən► n. The act of compiling. n. Something, such as a report, anthology, or set of data, that is compiled. n. The act of bringing together; a gathering or piling up; collection. Think you are the one who has the wrong idea ma'am.
.
uh, fun...
right?!
red heads are a lot of fun
Hello great job!!. I have a question..one of those holes is to put the vacuum cleaner tube in?
Thank you for the question. The hose actually goes on the top, it connects to the vacuum lid that you can buy from Home Depot. Does that make sense?
@@learningaswegofarming thank you so much!! My vaccum is a little different but I think it will works very well..so I'll try and I'll give you news soon!
@@canadacool11 what is yours like? I may still be able to help.
Are you saying that, since you covered the other three, you only needed to cut out a single 2" hole?
Thank you for your question! I would still do at least 2 holes, so that you have that adjustment available. This would totally be a personal preference.
I have looked at alot of videos, yours looks the simplest and imo therefore the best
I am so glad this was helpful to you!
Fantastic!!! Thank you so much!!! Just found a hive in my RV....Wife told me they gotta go!! Been needing a vac but was NOT going to pay $300 for one!!
I'm so glad this was helpful! Let us know how the removal goes.
Q
Good video Thanks!!
Yup big no no lol. They’re to crawly at night
Yep! Now that I have learned a thing or 2 we dont go unless we have an hour before dusk.
Everybody needs a farm cat
We evidently need 7, as we can't seem to stay below that number. Ha ha
Your pain is our gain. I didn't know that they could fall apart like that; must've been real hot.
It was probably 80 to 90 outside. And yeah... make sure you secure those frames and tucked tightly next to other frames.
You guys are doing a great job!! So happy for you all
Awesome job. I think you're video is the most simple and easy to follow as I've seen How big are the four holes that you drove in the bucket?
Hey. Thanks for the question. I used a hole that is 2" in diameter. If you use smaller holes it will work also, but it will be more work and changes how many holes you will need to leave open.
Did you buy this from my brother in eagle mountain?
No, this is footage from last year. But we will be posting about the one we bought from him very soon.
