For more online resources, please head to jamestf.com/learn
In this video tutorial, James will help equip you with the tools to take your animation and control of lights to the next level. We will firstly cover a very simple method to control the colour of a light using effectors, and then dive into an Xpresso set up which will take your lighting and renders to the next level.
00:00 - Introduction & Overview
00:47 - Render & Scene Walkthrough
02:13 - Method 1
06:23 - Method 2
16:52 - Wrapping Up
TIP: Try using other effectors other than the spherical one in this tutorial to create unique effects!

The Interstellar Medium - A Short Film by James TF

Follow the journey of Pioneer 10 & 11 through our Solar System and stars beyond... First uploaded to Vimeo when I completed the film in 2017, I think it's about time it ended up on UA-cam! This film was created as a graduate piece for an animation course, marrying my love for the history of space exploration & 3D animation. You can read more about the project here jamestf.com/films

Hello! Im working on a rigid body simulation which is driven by mograph effectors. My idea is to make it follow its animation until everything stays inside my box field and once it's out of the box i want it to be 100 percent driven by simulation, so i thought i can use Xpresso setup using Falloff node and then feed it into Rigid Body Follow Position and Follow Rotation forces, but it doesnt seem to work at all. Sadly, It seems like those forces are constant across whole simulation; is that so? Is there any workaround or other setup I can try?

Nice tutorial! Is there in simple way how to control intensity without using xpresso?

Great to learn some new Xpresso techniques. Thankyou! Method 1 can be improved by changing the Color Remap Mode, from Color to Gradient, with some tweaking of the colors there you can get something pretty decent that doesn't fall apart when you crank the brightness.
