A T140 is oil in frame model first 1971, that is not an oil-in frame its a standard T120 frame with a bolt-on hardtail and oil tank your chain looks longer because it is longer I know I built several of these things..nice bike who ever built it....

You won't get burned from the exaust?
No, there's a fiberglass wrapped portion under the heat shield. It won't get warm enough at all anywhere near the leg.
Do you retain the low gear these used to have?
Nope. I bought a neglected frame without an engine, so opted for the Lifan (semi-auto with no gearing aside from whatever sprockets you choose).
I might have missed it, going to watch again but just in case... Any modifications to the front forks? Or stock 02 883?

Ride an XT500 1U6 also from 1980. Upgraded the forks and electrics to 12V as well. In Germany it's a little difficult to get sometimes even minor modifications road legal and as everything is also a question of money, I still ride the original swingarm. But hey, it's a nice build you realised here. Congrats for that! Big 👍🏾

Yep, good luck if you want to have indicator like this. And the fork and swingarm would cost me almost 2 thousand just for the paper to be road legal
@@Flaffi78 well here in Germany TÜV (technical control) is comparably hard. But K&J deliver a swing arm that is already road legal. You have to go to the TÜV to get it registered, but that's actually nit that expensive.
Very cool! Any reason why you choose a lifan over a '85 125m.. It bolts right in, connects to the stock airbox and has the hi/lo sub trans. I'm thinking of putting one in my '78. How does changing from stock affect resale? Personally I think it's an upgrade, some say it isn't!
