Pete is a real nice guy. The album they made Haymans Green is a very good album. But Ringo was the better drummer. Ringo left Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. They was the top band in Liverpool. He took a risk. In the end pete got the money he deserved. Not many people can say I was one of the Beatles.

He seems to have taken it all on the chin; I'm glad he got his just desserts both financially and recognition-wise in the end, through The Beatles Anthology 1 release, on which he played drums on some of their early recordings. Everything is done well. The songs have interesting chord changes, and melodies. The only thing that I would say for improvement is: Quit trying to imitate George, Paul, John and Ringo. Let go of that and develop your own style. This is a very well recorded record, with lots of talent displayed, but it feels like a tribute CD, rather than one of original style.

Of course Ringo was a better drummer. Just listen to the beatles playing at the star club in hamburg. Just listen to the anthology 1 version of roll over beethoven. Watch the live at the Washington coliseum concert. Listen to the live at the bbc recordings. Pete seems to be an amazing guy, but he wasnt even close the drummer ringo was. Its only that.

Interesting but a bit partial. She talks of John as if he lived with them.

He's always seemed a nice enough bloke but what a pity he can't just say, “I was lucky enough to play with them for a few years but was replaced by Ringo who was a better drummer and fit in better”. He'd be respected and be an important part of The Beatles history. Instead he does embarrassing interview after embarrassing interview talking about decorating, people “turning round”, and how unfair it was he was sacked. He was a poor drummer and was unbelievably lucky to play with The Beatles before they were famous. He made a fortune when recording he's on were released commercially. He's a very, very lucky man.

On the letterman show in 1982, Pete said the reason the Beatles fired him was because "In a nutshell it was jealousy!" (His words. Go watch the clip for your self.)

John Lennon turned out to be more musical than we thought...He played the guitar, the piano. the mouth organ. If he had lived on he probably would have went on to play keyboard & synth. I couldn't even play the recorder at high school. But was good at writing poetry after i left because i had the time.

Oh, Pete. I wish you had a happier story to tell. But i am happy it worked out financially in the end. It's a good thing you were able to "hang on'" to enjoy the eventual royalties. What's with the sniffling on camera? Have the new riches let him start...a "habit" (hint hint).
