#220 DJ Screw - 3 'N the Mornin' Part Two (Hip Hop Album Review & Discussion)
They have top shelf lyrics On another level than most at the time
Love this project. Reuniting wuth Dr. Dre and the single "Bytch Pleaze" effectively saved Snoop's career, because things were looking iffy the prior couple of years. Snoop got his confidence back on this album as well by getting back to his west coast roots. Fave songs: 20 Minutes Don't Tell Down 4 My N'z Just Dippin' Bytch Pleaze Doin' Too Much My Heat Goes Boom
I'm one of those guys. I find 2001 an overall better listen than The Chronic, even though its not as influential. My top 3 cuts on this album are "The Watcher", "The Next Episode" and "Ackrite" with a strong HM to "Xxplosive".
"Nightfall, I stuff the rook, then I'm looking for the original book which contains the words of God Six hours until dawn, my quest to capture the queen without being seen by the pawns Call me Bishop, bishop takes rook, rook takes pawn pawn takes knight, knight takes queen Queen takes the original King James virgin (check) I'm surgin up when I'm emergin False clergymen you're urgin me to call you a virgin when to say the least Who can you trust when a priest is now the beast?"-Pharoahe Monch
bro i clicked on this thinking it was mr beast wtfff
I thought you were Mr. Beast
Classic album there Nick Wiz has a lot of tracks with them as well..
ATL don't get the credit they deserve. This album was recorded in 91 and released in 92 and became the blueprint to The Chronic. Warren G was their prodeje while recording this album and after the split he took some ideas with him. A few samples such as the 'Let Me Ride' one from the Chronic were used on this.
I think their debut Livin' Like Huslters was their best LP but Black Mafia Life is a close 2nd. Both are classics. What I love about ATL is they found their niche within the G-Funk sound. Cold 187 and KMG had unbelievable chemistry. I think they really might be the most overlooked west coast hip hop act. Overshadowed by the heavy hitters of their time - NWA, 2Pac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eazy-E and Ice Cube. My top 3 tracks are "Process of Elimination", "VSOP" and "Harda U R the Doppa U Faal"
Great picks! Keep it up🤘
lookin good Mr.Beast. keep it up!!!
It's not that good it features artist unknown with rushed poir written lyrics and tired themes that Dre better work in the 80s ran out by time he did this. Dre 87 n w a posse better work
Shiiiiiet. Lookin slick and healthy.
Thank you my man!
nice one brother!!! just randomly got suggested your video and your review is pretty spot on!!! you definitely deserve my like AND subscribe!!! keep it up!!! 👍
Wow, I never expect this album on this chanel, great!
I got plenty more my man it’s why I’ve been dragging this 90s set out for so long there’s just an endless amount to talk about 😅
Damn digging in the crates with this one 💪 Wussdaplan is my favorite here. Loud records could do no wrong in the 90s
That’s an absolute fact they quite arguably had the best lineup of albums for the whole decade
I never heard an Arrested Development project. Dope drop.
This is not true hiphop 😅😅😅
Naughty by Nature??? :o what would you consider true Hip Hop??
@FromThe36thChamber I must remind you that True hiphop is art self expression not mass production of media and video's to sell a teenager. Indie hiphop is self expression no major labels.look at my page and get a clue a true hiphop 😎
Only the a yacub can like these type of groups.
Mr beast knows his music lmao
Im Mr Beast if you added some yeast
Quik Is The Name is a top banger forever and awesome collection of other LPs too the Above The Law Mafia Life is a hardcore one too
Dr Dre's Chronic 2001 is still a classic and had massive hits like Still D R E, Xxplosive, The Next Episode, and the original Chronic album will always be the number 1 classic. It's crazy these days for the youngins when they start listening to Dr Dre they like to say that Chronic 2001 is better than the original Chronic but truth be told its not better than the 1st. Awesome video keep up the great work.
I love this LP but I agree The original trumps it by a mile, and Im guessing it's just certain younger fans who don't fully appreciate or enjoy the early 90s sound the way they would 2001, since that album is much more modern. And thank you for your kind words!
This record is a jewel of conscious afro centric hip hop for sure. Up there with Black on Both Sides, Introducing Black Star, Three Feet High and Rising
I completely agree!
Classic album
I consider this a classic hip hop release. One of the first hip hop CD's that I owned. My top 3 cuts are "Everything's Gonna Be Alright", "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" and "Let the Ho's Go". My copy of the album doesn't include "Uptown Anthem" if it did that would be my #1.
I agree! Those are great cuts and damn that’s a shame I hate when that happens!
It's an old version of the vinyl? Need a redition
Dilated Peoples is overdue!
You're very correct! I have them on the docket for my next 2000's set though!
When you've 200+ video essay you're no longer "self-proclaimed". You've put in more work than most will in their life time. Respect is due. Now claim it.
Awe thank you man to be honest I haven’t even thought about it in so long since I just always say it, but I appreciate that so much I’m actually going to follow your advice, once I hit 250 I’m gonna remove that and find something better!
@@FromThe36thChamber That's so great to hear. You're doing great work and a bit of evolution won't hurt - that much..
I own this vinyl my 2nd favorite DITC release after Stunts, Blunts & Hip Hop. Top 3 tracks for me are Represent, Soul Clap and Hard to Kill. HM Party Groove Instrumental mix.
Great picks! And you’re in luck bc that Diamond D classic is coming up just a bit down the line!
Dope! That album is hard to find! Great review!
36th chamber? Imagine simping for turbo cringe like wu tang.
Aye keep going with these videos👏👏👏
Crush, kill, destroy, stress! Dope video as always
Thank you my man!
Amazing review this is my favorite album by organized konfusion stress the mid 90s underground hip-hop era I got this album on cd back in 2003 stress and the equinox are my favorites from ok I never heard the self titled first album that came out in 1990 got to check that album out props on quote the lyrics of Pharoah monch on stress and bring it on I know is challenging Pharoah lyrics on bring it on because he went off beat and wild out on it Pharoah monch killed it. The album cover is amazing also the person that did the album cover the same person that did company flow funcrusher plus album cover rest in peace to Matt doo on the classic underground album covers. 36 chambers keep up the amazing work im enjoy this always keep doing you peace out
Wow what a dope fun fact! Now that you say that I do feel like I remember hearing that the same artist did the Funcrusher Plus album cover but I completely forgot about it thanks for sharing! I definitely put them in the same mental grouping and thank you for your kind words and support!
yo, i love Mr. Hood. they was buggin' and havin' fun. black bastards is drug induced, and definitely more violent and dark. i been a fan since Gasface, and i prefer the first album most def. i was so happy to order operation doomsday from sandbox distribution from fondle em back in 1999 and glad to have seen him at the wetlands back in the day. i hope one day Doom reappears, and is like, got'cha, this is what a villain does. it still is weird he's not here, i wish he was, he was the best author, orator, and genius that goes beyond rap. nice video, well thought of. peace fam-1
That’s a really good album
I got Black Reign as her best album too. The Queen is my GOAT female MC. Top 3 for me 1. U.N.I.T.Y. (which I consider a top 100 all time hip hop track) 2. Weekend Love 3. Bring the Flavor
This is the LP I think of when DJ Quik is mentioned. "Tonite" is an epic joint it symbolizes G-Funk as much as any song. My top 3 are that, "Born and Raised in Compton" and "Loked Out Hood" but damn you can just run this album from start to finish and I'm all good. Loved the shout out to Above the Law as well, they get mad overlooked.
I wish the whole album was as good as Bucktown, the album is dope for sure tho
It definitely has grown on me more and more over time but Hellucination and P.N.C. take the cake for me, the beats are just so nuts for both but Bucktown is iconic
@@FromThe36thChamber I’m probably sleeping on PNC but I do like Hallucination too. Timz N Hood Chek is another favorite. I wish there was a bit more variety in the feel of the production and their rapping, it starts to get repetitive to me. PNC is a mood change but it comes too late
Wearing a overshirt looks good on you. Keep up the good work
Thank you my man I’d def do it more often if it wasn’t a million damn degrees in LA all the time 😂
based off 'I used to love her' hip hop is now a 50 year old who has changed her life for the better after years of being a thot
One of the best HipHop albums ever made. Never gets old, just keeps aging like fine wine 👌
Classic! Top 5 album for me. KRS' best imo.
One of my favourite albums of all time - will listen to on repeat this week I think. Thanks!
Love the album and love that verse. I just re-listened to it a tonne this week - combined with Edo G - The Truth Hurts. Are you a fan?
Incredible album
i love your videos! :)
Awesome video, those LPs are golden forever especially that KRS-One Return Of The Boom Bap
Thank you!!
