True tradesman
Great for day work
Great video. Very informative and interesting.
How soon after applying the ribbon do you slice off the excess?!
I am about to undertake such work on one brick 🧱 thank you for this video 🙏🏿
THIS IS ARTISTRY …. AND ARTISAN… I love this - I love anything cement work, and anything stone work , but I’m a software white collar guy - this to me is THERAPY
I do not care what color my brick are because they’re are all crumbling in my basement from years of moisture
Wow, men are amazing!!
Capital. Simply Capital!
💰
Must cost a fortune !
Lovely work, what gauge do you use for the stopping mortar?
Just replace the brick.
Very impressive and extremely helpful. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this true artist at work👍
Only problem is the cost. Looks good though 👌
I need you guys down here in South Carolina, USA to help me with a project I have coming up. This exact type of work.
Why wouldn't you apply flush red oxcide prior?
Good heavens, those must be special buildings. Why not remove and replace bricks? Surely that would be quicker and stronger?
But if you remove the facing of the brick you will reduce its longevity
well done lads
It almost looks faster to lay brick. I can't see this being as strong as tuck pointing because there seems to be unnecessary layers. Lovely result in the end though
Hi Peter, thanks for your comments and would add that that Wigging Pointing remains in place today one some of the Georgian buildings around Dublin is therefore testamount to its longevity. Am sure this is the case for Tuck Pointing too. Regards
None of these are trades men and this is not how you wig cowboys.
Looks enough to drive a man insane😂
Cuck me did this as a apprentice trying to get away with it 😂
So it’s tuck pointing on top of pennyroll. What a waste of time.
What is a fixative?
Thanks for this. I've moved into a house with quite a lot of spalled brickwork and will try this instead of getting a brickie in who will most likely say 'naaah mate all gotta come out innit'.
If it spalls you can do this and it will last quite a while, but a genuine new solid brick will always last longer. It’ll just cost A LOT more to have done
An awful lot of unnecessary repointing is done to undamaged joints with modern mortars that don't match in appearance or hardness. In fact most repointing.
It’s tuck pointing
It looks like a fantastic end result, after a lot of labour needing to be put in. As a Surveyor though, I can't say that it feels a sensible finish to have the protruding shelves collecting rainwater, especially in Ireland.
Didn't know bricks could be repaired this way, this is awesome!
Am I the only one who thinks the end result looks terrible? You can see the outlined mortar repair and it’s now lost all its character? 🤷♂️ should have left the ones repaired and just repointed the rest
The last result was AI generated.
What kind of fixative is used with the pigment?
You can prime the existing brick using a slurry mix of the repair mortar
Great video. 😊 Thank you for this amazing video! I learned a lot from your clear and detailed instructions on how to repair bricks. You made it look so easy and fun. I appreciate your expertise and generosity in sharing your knowledge with us. You have inspired me to try this project on my own. I subscribed to your channel. Keep up the great work! Greetings from Uruguay. You have a fan here!
06:11 WHAT KIND OF BOND IS THAT ON THE RIGHT SIDE?
I think it's a variation of Flemish bond
wow thats an artwork
Amazing
Beautiful work and nicely presented
Why not just use coloured mortar for stopping 😂😂 and it’s called tuck pointing
Brilliantly done, looks great. A very time consuming process.
Thank you!
How much for m2
Absolutely beautiful building and roof.
I can't take the background music
