Hi, and welcome to my channel.
My name is Tim, like most people I'm fumbling my way through life without much of a clue what I'm really doing.
Over the coming weeks and months I will be adding a multitude of content!
Live music recordings (I play lead guitar and have been known to sing).
Bikepacking and cycle touring.
Hiking, lightweight Backpacking and Wild camping.
Mountain bking.
Bushcraft.
Kit Reviews.
General ramblings ;-)
Watch this space for more, and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out on the good stuff. You never know I might actually say something profound from time to time.
All the best from 'sunny' Derbyshire.

Why don't you have a waterproof tent , clothing ect ? You should never get soaked through 😮
Just back from a day in the woods myself via the hill i normally walk up , i noticed someone rough camping in the pine forest next to the stream looks like he or she has a log burner & badly needed lol i wonder if they were there during the storm last cpl days as was quite wild
@@Mackle-b3o Yeh we've had storms here, but nothing like what the UK has had this week. I think it might be a bit of a shock to my system when I get back home. It's been at least 14 degrees here, no need for a log burner.
Storm in uk but in Scotland we call it it's a little bit windy today, the bbc have gave the wind a name lol
Presumably nothing else newsworthy happened anywhere else in the world, so they're talking about the weather!
@timb171 Well well lol it is a bit of a cover up as what is really going on here
I guess with hindsight a bear canister would have been a good idea, id be paranoid of the hogs finding my shopping 😂😂
@@MarkTayloroutdoors I gave it some thought and I set up one spot as my "staging area" where I spend most of my time. I do all my cooking and eating there, and also store my food hung up in the trees there at night. Then 40 or 50 meters away I pitched my tent and used that area purely for sleeping. My sleeping area is away down a dead-end track and I've made a bit of a barrier out of spikey branches. So I can at least hear them coming even if it doesn't actually slow them down at all. I also sleep with my tent door open and it's facing an easily climbable tree. I feel like I've taken all reasonable precautions, I reconcile it in my mind by thinking that wild boar do not naturally hunt humans. People camp all the time in north America where there are large predators that will actively hunt humans. I have been visited by a wild boar one night, but I shoed it away and since it didn't get rewarded with anything edible I doubt it will be back. (I hope)
A Shame but probably for the best mate, definitely don't want unnecessary confrontation
You've washed your coupon my son 😮
@@Mackle-b3o 😁
In my experience is the dog owner is unaware what the unleashed dog is doing as the so called walker is standing reading on the mobile phone or walking looking at the mobile phone , i think dogs have no place in the countryside
@@Mackle-b3o I'm inclined to agree, I'd probably feel differently if the owners actually acted responsibly. But unfortunately a large proportion of people seem to be completely self entitled. As a cyclist I struggle with dogs running around on designated cycle paths completely unsupervised and then getting accused of being the cause of the problem by the oblivious owner when their dog runs Infront of my moving bike and nearly gets injured. //Rant mode off.
Alright brother ! A screenshot of you in those joggers will be saved for blackmail purposes 😉😬
if you can see out my window 🌧️
Maybe watching your videos
@@Mackle-b3o it's a good point, I think I might have said in one video that I am advertising my location on the internet. I had my use of the place when I needed it to shelter from the storms. I'm just sat in my new camp spot and the sun is streaming through the trees, so I can't complain.
Fine little set up you've got, i have the victorinox fieldmaster myself & the discontinued walker lol uk weather is snow on high ground where i am anyway i think England maybe getting the worst of it, looks fine & sunny your end o the woods 🔥
Do you plan on any hiking in the peak District
@@Mackle-b3o yes once I'm home, although I must admit I prefer cycling these days, there are plenty of places that aren't suitable for bikes. I'm up for meet-ups and such, once the UK weather is a bit more amicable to days out.
Grateful for the playlist, working my way through them 😊
Thanks, I appreciate the engagement, it's all really helping to build inertia and grow the channel. I plan on doing more practical videos on outdoor living once I'm back home in the UK.
@ I’m all up to date now 😁 No worries on the engagement, it’s good to see you on here. Been off and on with videos myself, just uploaded today with the floods around my area. Thanks for sharing your journey, I connect with it being in a similar situation myself recently splitting up etc Atb Mark
Yes it’s freezing and wet here in Blighty 😂😂
Gatewood cape looks bigger than I remember I’ve got the lunar solo which is a very similar style
@@MarkTayloroutdoors The Gatewood cape is a surprisingly substantial tent once it's pitched, considering how small it packs down.
I can hear the dogs 😁🐾🐾
3 hours early for flight that was 3 hours delayed that’s a long time in the airport 😮
I reckon she fancied you especially if it's in a small village probably not up to anything other than want your beard lol but still yes keep the guard up still lol
M a c k l e its an L not an i
@@Mackle-b3o Apologies, spell check compensates for my dyslexia when I'm typing, but not when I'm reading. Thanks for correcting me, I don't like making mistakes.
@timb171 everyone says Mackie lol i liked the rain sounds on the short video im in the market myself for a tent just a small one for odd night or 2 as hills are on my doorstep Scotland im from been going up most day but sometimes don't want return so wee tent needed
Transitional period for me too mate, split from my wife over a year ago, after a while of co habiting I ended up moving into my car for a few weeks with my dog, living on a small river cruiser now. Good to see you back on here mate, not seen you since the bushcraft forest 😁 I’ll catch up with these vids mate Atb Mark
@@MarkTayloroutdoors Thanks, I appreciate the support. Glad to hear that you're getting on your feet too. It never rains but it pours, I've just had an email from HR at work, looks like there's going to be some lay-offs in my department. So I may be jobless as well as homeless soon. Yay! Thanks universe, that's just what I needed.
@ an that’s not good on the job front mate, hope you survive the cull, and if not then hope you get another job sorted 👍🏻
Try and buy a waterproof spray do your flysheet when it dries out & don't breath it in lol
So UA-cam has been weird with me all day regarding uploading videos. Apparently new video notifications are not coming through either. I'm not sure what to do about it, I've spent half the day trying to figure it out and I still have no idea what's going on. I haven't changed any settings, but today the UA-cam app isn't responding the same way it did yesterday. Maybe I can sit at an actual PC in the library tomorrow and get a clearer idea of what's happening.
Did you say you went out for a pee your testis collapsed & was flapping about in the wind 😂😂😂
You must like Portugal as you said in another video your going back in the summer
Well myself and my friend Mark have been planning to come on a long cycle tour around Portugal this autumn. The current trip I'm on wasn't planned at all. I'd had a couple of glasses of wine on Christmas eve and just decided to come out here on a whim since I had the free time. So I'm treating this trip like a recon mission for the longer trip later this year. Thanks for commenting, I appreciate the engagement.
What an interesting way to spend a month! theres bound to be loads of nice walks nearby that will be interesting to explore, maybe check out on AllTrails
Have a goodnight & healthy & happy new year 🎉
Thanks for commenting, it's really appreciated. My channel is so small every comment and like really helps bring attention to my vids.
Youv arrived 😃
I did! That first day in a new country, especially when you don't speak the language can be a bit daunting. I'm settling into the swing of it now. Thanks for commenting, I appreciate any feedback since my channel is so small.
Are you going on campsites or avoiding them or bit both probably
Hi, I'm planning on wild camping the whole time. I might stay in an Airbnb every now and then to charge my battery packs etc.
@timb171 braw ill keep an eye out see how you get on & remember no speaking to strangers & if anyone asks if you want e lift the answer is NO 🥺 lol Good luck
Wish you the very Best of luck mate,I hope being a new year 2m,brand new start for you👍
Thanks, you too! I hope you have a great 2025.

O Oh! they're on to me. Quick, make for the door.
Wow, that guy can fly, but you would make an excellent Ack Ack gunner, lol. Found you from Jay's latest vid, look forward to seeing what you put up. Keep on keeping on.
+Dale Skidmore Thanks for watching, and for subscribing - much appreciated. That's me (pre-beard) flying the plane, and my good friend Nick (also staring in Jays latest vid) doing the filming. I'm currently saving like mad to buy a decent camera, hopefully in a month or so I should start uploading some new content. atb, Tim o/ (I've subbed you back - your channel looks like it has some interesting content, looking forward to watching my way through it)
Oh, sorry I didn't recognise you, Tim. Cheers for the sub, hope you like what you see. I use a Sony Handicam HDR240 around £120 from Argos, if that is of any interest to you. Very simple to use and I'm very pleased with the film quality, not so great in low light. Atb.
The Peak District High Flyer today. Cool toy. How does that work? ATB Mark.
+Wye Explorer Hey Mark, thanks for watching dude. It's radio controlled, runs on batteries and has a small propeller at the back. I built it myself from Depron Foam, it's stuff that's used as insulation under laminate flooring (a bit like the foam cheap camping roll mats are made from) It has small servos that are used to move the flaps so you can steer it. It's really good fun to fly, and it was very cheap to build, so I don't get too upset when I inevitably crash it - I just build a new one. Building them is half the fun for me. I'm going to be adding a lot more content to this channel over the coming weeks and months - Mostly outdoorsy stuff, hiking; backpacking; wild camping; bushcraft and mountain biking, maybe some kit reviews. I'm also a musician so I'll be adding some live music recordings. So please do add me to your subs ;-) atb from sunny Derbyshire Tim o/
Peak District Hillbilly Hey there Tim.....that's innovative maaan. Good on you. It's no wonder it goes at some speed given the light materials. I look forward to your videos. I think with a touch of your music they'll be unique there. Perhaps some lives stuff on the trail. Any way, good to chat. Until next time all the best. Mark.
if memory serves the motor is a CF2812 @ 1650kv and the prop is a JXF 6x3 high speed poly composite they were both bought online from Giant Shark and were very inexpensive
hey what is the motor/prop setup? it's so quiet!
