Periodontal Scaling in Cats & Dogs
Переглядів 176 тис.5 років тому
Periodontal disease is a huge threat to your pet's health. Bacterial builds on their teeth, getting absorbed into their bloodstream. This tartar accumulates over time and can even kill the tooth root itself. We include digital radiographs in every dental procedure to ensure every root is healthy. Dental health is crucial to keeping our pets happy and healthy. Plus, it keeps their breath kissable!

Take care of your fur buds teeth before it's too late. I regret so much and feel like a terrible pet owner not brushing or taking in my buddy to get a cleaning more often. He had severe dental disease and the plaque just ruined his gums and chewing teeth. He had more than 30 teeth removed and only has his four canines left and can only eat soft foods for the rest of his life. It's expensive but your dog is your family.

This. My dog was healthy for 12 years then developed mitral regurgitation (heart murmur) which made anesthesia more dangerous. He had bad tartar build up and needed a dental cleaning. I should have brushed his teeth from the beginning and deeply regret it. Fortunately he did well under anesthesia.

My dog got an abscess in her tooth that bled for a day due to no oral care for 12 years! (We didn’t really know that was something you had to do with dogs, we’ve also never had a dog that lived this long) They gave her antibiotics and pain killer and immediately I noticed a difference, I felt really bad because I hadn’t noticed before how much pain she must have been in 🥺😢 We are in the same situation as you, I am now trying to slowly incorporate oral care but her plaque is SO BAD I just pray that the abscess doesn’t come back. This has turned my eye to my cat and I am now trying to get some of his plaque build up! Though it isn’t nearly as bad.

Same thing I never knew about dog tooth brushing but I recently found out a little to late although her teeth aren’t horrible but they’re still pretty bad and her breath smells i plan to get her teeth professionally cleaned but if they have to extract teeth it will be 1000+ but if they don’t have to do extractions then around 700 so I’m hoping they don’t have to extract some of her teeth so expensive! Definitely brush your pets teeth while you have the chance instead of paying a lot of money in the future when your pet has to get some teeth extracted she is a small dog so she’s more prone to bad teeth as she is a 10 year old Bichon

Save money by avoiding this procedure. -Only feed dog hard kibbel( no canned food or human food) - Add brushing of teeth into puppy training even if it literally 1 minute, do it about 3 times a week. - Give the dog dental care treats a few times a week.( Ones that require a lot of chewing( - Add dental care additives to the dogs water.

There are 3 stages of teeth tartar(?) If its still in stage 1 the vet will just clean it under anesthesia. Stage 2, then some teeth MIGHT have to be removed but usually just cleaning. Stage 3, most of the teeth need to be removed and maybe even removing some part of the gum. I doubt yours is in stage 3, cause in stage 3, they wont eat nor drink. Its always better to have a vet check them. Make sure they are trustworthy by seeing their review or asking friends. An 11 years old dog will most likely have teeth problem no matter how well you take care of it. Just by the fact you manage to raise it until 11 years old means you are a good owner.
