You’re welcome 😊
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful scarf. I love the view from that big window in your studio.
Thank you! 😊
Another great and helpful video Bella, thank you! I love your beautiful work and calm, gentle nature. You’ve created a unique style of your own and your passion for hand weaving shows, it’s inspiring 🧶 I used to have a 16 shaft Harris compu loom, which I loved. I sold it to go travelling. I’m currently saving up for a new floor loom. I can’t wait to get into it. Is weaving/ textile design your job? Sending best wishes from Japan 🇯🇵
Thank you so much! It’s a good loom to learn on but I’d love something wider to weave blankets too. I am building my business slowly and doing it part time at the moment. Amazing, I am saving up to visit Japan, I’m very inspired by the textiles there.
Very good
Thank you!
A pleasure to watch ❤
Thanks so much 😊
Hi there! I’m doing blocks after a very long time but I’m still confused as I have set it the same way as you have done in this video but the pattern isn’t coming out the same way for me could you please share the pattern to achieve the plain weave and the waffle so I can see where I’m going wrong? Thankyou 😊
Your work is so beautiful. I am a new weaver with a rigid heddle loom and a 4 shaft table loom. My table loom is a Leclerc Dorothy loom which is very similar in operation to your Harris loom. I hope that one day my creations are as lovely as yours.
Amazing! Thank you so much, that’s so kind
Morning Bella. Thankyou for your tutorial, you are a great teacher. Your work is beautiful, and you explain things so well.
Thank you so much, that’s so nice 😊
Stunning work xxxx
Thank you so much!
Your wall hangings are so beatiful. Can you tell me the name of the glue. Is is washable out of fix?
Thank you! It’s called Prym fray check.
You are wuch a creative, talented young lady, thank you for the videos they are inspiring. I have a 24 inch 8 shaft table loom.
Thank you so much! That’s great 😊
Such beautiful work, thank you for sharing 🌷🌷
Thank you so much 😊
Hi Bella. Just found your site and so impressed with your projects and skills so I subscribed immediately. I have a new 16 shaft table loom and was wondering how many heddles you have on each shaft. I have to buy some more texsolv heddles but they're expensive so only want to buy what I'll use. Any suggestions would be appreciated. 😬
Hi, thank you 😊I have 100 heddles on each shaft and I’ve found that works perfectly for me
@bellanunn Thanks Bella. That's about what I was thinking.
What yarn are you using for the warp?
Hemp, from uppingham yarns
Great video! I have an 8 shaft table loom
Nice! Thank you so much 😊
Wonderful ideas/ tips.
Thank you!! 😊
Too good a expert.
Thank you!
Love your work! 8-shaft Ashford table loom and a rigid heddle loom.
Thank you 😊 ah that’s great
I really enjoy your videos Bella. I have a Saori loom, a tapestry loom, a rigid heddle loom and am getting an 8 shaft table loom in a couple of months.
Thanks so much. Oh that’s nice, I like the look of the Saori looms.
very useful information. lovely weaving.
Thank you so much ☺️
Beautiful wall hanging collection. Love the tips. I have four shaft table loom and hope to do small wall pieces this year.
Thanks so much 😊 that’s great, love that
The pillows look fantastic.
Thank you 😊
Do you ever lose count and if so, how do you correct it?
Yes, just go back and undo what I’ve done or leave it if it’s not a noticeable mistake.
I don’t own a loom but am interested in buying one. I have two questions for you. When you’re beating down the yarn, does it stirrup dust? My second question is on average how long does it take to weave a scarf for example? I can’t tell if it’s a one day one week or one month event. Can you tell me how many hours it takes from the time once your warp is on the loom?
The fibres from the yarn do come up into the air and fall around your loom, depending on how fibrous the yarn is, so yes it does stir up dust. It takes me 2-3 days to set up my loom (I have other videos of loom set up and weaving a scarf) and then say a scarf would take around 2 full days. Something with a complicated pattern would take around 1 hour to do 10cm, with fine yarn.
@ Thank you. I am debating about buying a loom but am concerned about the dust causing coughing fits. I think I would have to wear a mask and I don’t know how enjoyable that would be. Thanks again for answering.
Well a rigid heddle loom is a good place to start as that one doesn’t move dust around and you can just use yarns that won’t shed lots of fibres. You’re welcome 😊
That's a guitar pickup winder, not a string winder.
I know I just didn’t go back and correct it
I know I just didn’t go back and correct it
Too good
Thanks
Thank you so much for this detailed video! I’m a weaver who hasn’t weaved in many years and this is great inspiration to dust off the loom and get back to it 🧶💙
That’s great I’m so glad it was helpful. Thank you 😊
This is fascinating! Could I ask though-how did you keep the top layer pleats in place when joining the top layer to the bottom layer? I’ve been trying to weave horizontal pleats like this with my layers on separate beams, but my problem arises when I want to re-tension the top layer after making the pleats-any suggestions? Thanks!
Thanks for your question! That’s a good idea for a video tutorial to explain making the pleats. I haven’t done them in a long time but I remember having a similar problem, the pleats do seem to flatten a bit when you adjust the tension. To help it stay pleated you need to keep the tension loose as you weave after the pleat and not tighten the warp straight away.
It would definitely be a good topic for a video! There doesn’t seem to be anything available other than simple instructions. If I keep the top layer tension loose after making the pleat, it just makes the next few picks flippy floppy!
@janesflanagan yeah it’s a tricky one, I’ve never seen anyone else doing it so I’m not sure if there’s a secret method to getting the pleats to stay perfectly but I’d definitely like to have a go again.
Too good
Thank you 😊
Wow! Beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
Love the colors and changes in textures. Intrigued by the loops on the selvedges. Really enjoy your creativity.
Thank you! They’re going to be frayed edges. I’ll post photos of them on my Instagram/website when they’re finished.
Beautiful work you've done. Congratulations. Thank you for sharing the meticulous process. Very important to give continuity to this ancient tradition and craft. Cheers
Thanks so much, glad you liked it 😊
Thank you for this. I adore calm, peaceful instruction.😊

Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this video. I'm new to weaving and still finding my way so really appreciated your hints and tips. Happy weaving.
Aw that’s great thanks!!
It was really fun and informative to watch you get ready to weave. Thanks! I have a rigid heddle loom which of course has fewer moving parts, but getting it set up for a twill pattern can feel almost as complicated. Those scarves are going to be lovely☺️
Thank you so much, that’s great 😊
Beautiful

Thank you!! ☺️
Thank you! Glad you like it
lovely!!! i just bought an olde 4 shaft table loom (a Rasmussen), after having used a rigid heddle loom for a few years. can't wait to try out some twill patterns. you've inspired me. just curious, want is the tool you're using to soften the fibres at the end? is it just sandpaper?
That’s great! Thanks so much 😊 I was going to leave a link to it in the description, I got it from Zara home, but they don’t sell them anymore, but if you search fabric pilling brick/ stone then there are some similar options.
Fascinating to watch you weaving. What brand of weaving wool yarns do you prefer for your scarves and pillows? Thank you.
Thank you! My main yarn shop that I use is Uppingham yarns as there are loads of options and the wool is a good price. I put links to my other favourite brands in the description as well. Are you based in the UK? Etsy is quite good to search for yarn too.
@@bellanunn Thank you, Bella. I Iive in the U.S. The Woolly Thistle is local to me. She carries many yarns from the U.K.
The red selvedge warps really shine in the fringe
Thanks 😊
