I will throw this out there, to the folks that love this airy tube sound, try and find an older Sansui stereo receiver. I have a 1969 Sansui 2000 and a 1970 Sansui 4000. They both have that airy sound, the 4000 is a bit more prominent in that area, but the 2000 is close. I paid $200 for each piece, and both worked. The 4000 I had to service, which I did myself. They both sound phenomenal, deep rich bass on the Zu Omen Dirty Weekends I own, the midrange is very airy, very tube like. The highs are very detailed, not harsh, just enjoyable with none of the sterile digital sound. You are in the room. I am using a Mofi StudioDeck with their Master Tracker cartridge. For streaming, a WiiM pro powered by an LHY 5v linear power supply and the PS Audio Gaincell as a DAC/Preamp, mainly as a digital hub for the WiiM. I have a Pi2 Design Mercury v2 streamer in the mix too, via i2s to the Gaincell. But quite frankly, the WiiM sounds much better paired with the Sansui. If you have $200, and a pair of Zu speakers, I would find one of these vintage Sansui units and give it a go. It is now the primary piece in my rack, the rest of the gear is long gone, including the Venus II 12th.

the handles need to be adjusted better...I have a ct f1000 and a ct f 700, both with rack handles...you cannot beat the look of them...beautiful

These must be newer Concerto’s. My 1996 version of these are bi-wirable and have different drivers in them than these.

Thanks for posting. I have a Cary Audio DMS-700 digital source and have been looking at the SL-300.2D integrated. How would you describe the sonic signature? Is it neutral, or warm and laidback, or lively and upfront?

What do you think of the Nuances? I have a pair of Grand 3's and a Grand 3 Cen 3 S Pro center channel and I think they're pretty nice. I see a lot of hate thrown towards the brand online though.

The amp is too weak. It should be as much more powerful as it gets to make these speakers sing. Solid state amp is recommended. Sonus faber' bookself is quite stuborn in order to teach and make them sing!

I had one of the Cary Cad-300sei for about 5 years. It was the best amp I have ever owned. It was for me going to be the amp for the rest of my life. However, divorce showed up one day and I had to sell it. I still miss it, more than the wife. It was wonderful. With the right 300b's almost nothing can beat this int.amp.
