I can throw a Perfect knuckleball (ABSOLUTE ZERO SPIN) about 1 out of 100 tries. And I've been practicing for 20 years. The most difficult pitch anyone can learn to throw. But... That 1 out of 100 that is perfect is... Soooo satisfying.

Oh that's wild. I was just thinking, I bet kicking is kind of like golf when the line, "...compared it to golf" was read. Although I wasn't thinking short game vs long game, I was thinking that success or failure seems to depend on a kicker's ability to replicate his stroke at will, strike the ball cleanly every time, and most of all, not psych himself out. Because very rarely does the opposing team actually generate enough pressure to affect a kick, and for short kicks like extra points should really never be missed. But just like with a five foot putt, sometimes the concious mind gets too involved with what should be an automatic process, and the ball sails wide.
