    How fast do you go and do you use your motor or trolling motor?

      USUALLY, around 2 mph, give or take. Sometimes slow, sometimes fast....depends on their mood. I only use my kicker along with my bow mount to troll.

    Does a diving crankbait, lets say a #9 shad rap which goes down to 20' and I put on a 3 or 4oz snap weight on. Can I get that down to 30 or 40'? Want to try this method for spring salmon! Thanks!

      Of course. You can run any crankbait at any depth with snap weights.

      A 9 shad rap with a 2 oz snap weight, let 50 feet out, clip weight to line let out 90 more feet. Clip on planer board and let out to desired distance from boat. This will get you 32 feet down at 2 mph

    I’m new at this type of fishing and a bit confused, are you at 61’, 28’ or 49’? How do you know where to put the weight on the line to get to a certain depth? What is the fish are in the water column, say 20’, where do you put the weight and how much line do you set out?

      Hey Brian. Let's say you're in 20 feet of water and we'll use that scenario from there. First, make sure you're trolling the speed you intend on trolling so it's moving at the speed you expect. Then let out the line til it hit's bottom. I "thumb" the line to make sure it doesn't FLY OUT of the spool. Then you can adjust accordingly off the bottom. There's an indepth tutorial that's listed in the "See More" section of the video description. I'd read that too. Also, don't forget to subscribe for more videos like this! :-)

      So he let out the first 21 ft. Then when the sinker hit bottom his counter hit 40. So add the two = 61 ft. Lol
