The NORTON CloserPlus Ramp Hold Open Arm represents the very BEST in arm technology. The Ramp arm cycles 10 times longer than the competition.
How do you UNLOCK an auto door that’s locked open? Some bellend keeps leaving the fire exit door open!
Thank you...just easy way to do it....easy way to explain how to do it..
Excellent tutorial!
How do you get these door closers to stop squeaking and grinding when they close? Is it because they are low or out of oil inside the closing mechanism ? TY

Regarding the strength: depending on your installation obviously, but instead of adjusting the spring strength screw, you might get significant results by changing the mounting point of the armset shoe (or arm bracket however you might call it). Also it's very useful if your model can have armset pivot unscrewed and then disconnected. Furthermore you might wanna think about changing the preload tension. Adjust the arm's length. Or even attach the armset to the pivot on the door closer body at a different angle, but I'm not sure how many positions your model would have, it's possible there are only 2, which won't be your solution then.
Thanks for this we got a door in the lobby slamming so hard it could easily slice a hard hat in half and everyone just tolerates it, not me problem solved.
What if the door is heavy to open can the pressure be adjusted?
I am a facilities manager for an office and this is my favorite video so far for adjusting door closers! Thank you so much guys!
Thank-you. This video helped out a lot.
how to adjust to hold it open i need to keep my door open as i drive my wheel chair thru the doorway. then grab the handle and tug it to then let the closer do its job of closing the door. but i have to be able to open it and have it stay open until i close it myself. also i have to mount it between the inside door and the storm door and use it for the storm door how will this work for the cold temps thanks
very well explained & demonstrated
I bet they used red thread locker and thats why heating them up allowed them to come off.
Thank you..... I just adjusted the front outer door at my company..... tech workers couldn't figure it out!!!
❤
How do you remove the cover?! LOL
thank you very much for the video.....I've been trying to get the door to not slam when opening and closing...this fixed my problem
Fantastic. Awesome tutorial. Thank you.
Can I set the door closer so the sweep is zero (door won’t start closing) but increase the latch speed? Basically I’ll swing the door myself, and just want the closer to activate in the last 15 degrees or so?
I agree that this is best explained tutorial on the how to adjust a door that I have seen to date. Very well done.
great concise help, thanks
Nice video
I just wish you had gotten closer to the closer so I could see which holes you were working with.
What about the door being very stiff to open. Don't hear anyone mentioning any adjustment for that problem. My installer said there is no adjustment. for this....True?
It's possible that the closer arm is binding. Also possible that the hinges or door is the issue and not the closer.
Awesome tutorial, thanks!
I thought the backcheck was designed to also stop the door opening too quickly in high winds? Your setting just seems to be about limiting how far it opens.
thank you! very informative video. I was told to replace a door closer at work. It was slamming hard but after watching your video, i just tightened the closing speed and it's perfect now. Thanks again man
Best door closer tutorial ever! So clear and detailed. Nailed that perfect adjustment instantly.
Love the green screen background
That was an awesome explanation. Can't wait to go adjust all my doors. Thank you.
Thank you for your important video but my door is rubbing to upper side how to adjust this peoblem
You will probably have to shim your hinges. We have a good tutorial at Dave's door blog www.davesdooropening.com/basic-door-shimming/#disqus_thread
Thanks nice video
What about a door with good speed but the lower half tapers away from the jamb and leaves a gap? Any way to adjust that?
You will probably have to shim your hinges. We have a good tutorial at Dave's door blog www.davesdooropening.com/basic-door-shimming/#disqus_thread
Thank you!
Very precise tutorial. It really help us to fix our door closer. Thank u so much
So helpful! Well explained and timed. It helped me adjust my door. My door no longer slams shut at night waking everyone up! Thanks!
My daughter's apartment door opens out and has a hydraulic closer. Is there a way to jam it from the inside for extra security? ty
Easy to understand. It help me fix my problem. Still needed to get the user manual for my door closer, but this video help me understand what I needed to do. Thank you!!!
Excellent Video. Made my job of installing a replacement unit much easier. Well done.
How you do with 2 doors I have a problem only 1 door open
Should have kept this control instead of "updating" to the digital one they have now.
Is the power adjustment basically just modifying the spring preload?
Yes that is correct
What happened......I feel asleep 🙄🙄🙄
Enjoyed your explanation. Especially about fluid. Should I be concerned if BC valve got overly loose, fell out and lost fluid?
obviously yes. did you get the loose screw replaced?
Can fluid be replaced? Are there any seals that have to be replaced?
Unfortunately, once the fluid leaks, the closer should be replaced. Air in the closer instead of oil can could the door to slam becoming a liability.
very helpful and clear, two different simultaneous views made it even better
do you have video on eletric door closer we have a latch issue can you help
What are you doing man , only you is there we are not able to see the door lock and the procedure
I would like to know if the temperature could affect the door closer ? My problem is that in the summer everything works well and then in the winter the exterior door closer doesn't work as well. So my Question "Does the hydraulic oil in the closer get thicker and not flow as well as in summer conditions"?
All season ATF fluid will take care of that. Get synthetic, and change every 5000 miles
Yes. I can tell you right away the door you are talking about is in the basement area
Lol how do you measure the milage on a door
@@jsb5188 Are you being serious. If so how do you measure mileage or when it is time to change the oil.?
Yes, that is correct, however most of our closers from ASSA ABLOY come with all weather fluid to minimize the the effects of extreme temperature change.
Excellent video.
Nicely done,! full explanation and good delivery speed, just one more thing, a quick shot with the camera up to the two ends of the closer to show the Allen keyholes, and the other end to show the Power adjustment hole or nut, might be helpful. Thank You for the video, I will tackle my bad door closer now with confidence!
