Yeah, this isn't a beater, its a combo piece. If you cant remove it from your own board from profit, you are actively losing that game, if only cuz it can't block. Sure against contrl decks with zero creatures with toughness above 2, but thats it, it doesn't actually work as card advantage against anything else

I really like a red 1 drop that gets counters when you discard that’s gonna be good card for multiple formats, it’s gonna be busted in hollow one decks in modern. A mono red discard deck with inti, and fomo plus some normal mono red stuff that draw 2 discard one if it’s a non land deal 2 would be sweet in it.

I'd be tempted to put this in a non-graveyard deck. Something aggressive that's fine playing a potential 2/1 haste for 2. Where you just curve out and if it dies, and you get it back a few times it's just gravy. Cards don't have to be obscene to be good. It's good enough to warrant siding in graveyard hate. But if it's the only graveyard matters thing in your aggro deck, can they afford to take time off to deal with it? And do you even care? Play the meta against itself. Allow your opponent overboard when they see it.

its probably gonna be viable in standard in golgari roots and rakdos sacrifice. but i really dislike the art. the style is cool, but why tf does this vampire suddenly look like a badly drawn wolf? i know mtg sometimes goes a little wild with vampires but this just seems so cheesy cuz its a reprint. also, the dimensions are way off. the hands and face are basically on the same visual plane even tho its in movement.

Not sure Golgari landfall cares about this in its current form, but I could see it in a Radkos or Jund shell that uses it as sacrifice fodder.

Black can either instakill with a 3 and 4 drop or a 2 and a five drop its cringe as fuck.

I think standard is in a pretty good spot. Yeah you can die turn 2, but the chances of that are pretty slim as leyline decks are not super consistent. Technically storm chaser and town is a seven mana combo, but it’s really 4. And I think it’s very cool as a concept. Is it strong? For sure. But I don’t think the format is in a bad spot at all. It’s probably the best its been in a long time.
