Thank you, this was very helpful. The Xplorer 500 model from 1997 is very similar, but rare so there aren’t many videos about it. I feel better about changing mine now that I’ve seen this.

Thanks for the video brother. Thought I was a wimp for not being able to seat the carb back on that rubber boot! What a bear. I’ll try twisting and pushing.

Don't worry about comments about camera work - We record the best we can at times... Appreciate you taking the time to share the breakdown. I have to replace carb on 1995 polaris 400. Thank you!

What do you do after adjusting that bolt and you still don't have brakes, I've adjusted it as much as I could, I can barely move the brake pedal, still no brakes.

So glad you ONLY showed how to remove the carb and not the process of the other stuff…because taking the carb off was the only reason we watched…NOT

You can get several aftermarkets through dealers like partzilla, or to save money go to amazon.

Do you know what spec. the ring gap is supposed to be?

Unfortunately there is no manuals available online, and can be a little infuriating to have to buy one. I only replaced the bearing and everything went back as is...

Ring gap is generally 4 thousands of and inch per inch of bore diameter. 4 inch bore x .004 equals .016 end gap for instance.

How much do you think that motor weighs?

I'm not certain but less than 100 lbs. I'm only 5'9 150 and could lift it... not saying it was easy though.
