Ultimate Udupi Travel guide | Complete Udupi itinerary | Murudeshwar | Honnavar
Here is the detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Exploring Udupi's Tranquil Beaches and Cultural Heritage
* Padubidri Beach:
Our first stop was Padubidri Beach, one of the few blue flag-certified beaches in India. The beach is renowned for its clean environment and crystal-clear waters, providing an ideal location for a peaceful morning stroll. The blue flag certification ensures top-notch facilities like clean restrooms, proper waste management, and eco-friendly practices. We spent some time relaxing by the water, enjoying the fresh sea breeze.
* Krishna Mutt (Udupi Sri Krishna Matha):
Next, we visited the famous Krishna Mutt, a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna, which is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in South India. The temple’s unique feature is the Kanakana Kindi, a small window through which devotees can get a glimpse of the deity.
* Bahar Beach House:
After an eventful morning, we checked into Bahar Beach House, a beautiful beachside property offering a peaceful and comfortable stay. After a quick refresh, we headed out to explore more of Udupi’s hidden gems.
* Delta Point (Kodibengare Road):
One of the lesser-known spots in Udupi, Delta Point is located on Kodibengare Road, where the Suvarna River meets the Arabian Sea. This confluence creates a spectacular view, especially during sunset, where the sky turns into a blend of vibrant hues. The calm waters, lush green surroundings, and the distant sound of waves made it a perfect spot for relaxation. It’s a hidden gem that offers tranquility away from the usual tourist crowds.
Day 2: Temples, Beaches, and Backwaters
* Murudeshwar Temple:
On Day 2, we began our journey to Murudeshwar, a famous pilgrimage site that houses one of the largest statues of Lord Shiva in the world. The statue stands tall at 123 feet, and the temple is located on a hill, offering breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. The combination of religious significance and scenic beauty makes this temple a must-visit.
* Maravanthe Beach:
On our way to Murudeshwar, we made a stop at Maravanthe Beach, a unique location where the NH66 highway runs between the Arabian Sea on one side and the Souparnika River on the other. This rare geographical feature creates a spectacular view, with the ocean waves on one side and calm river waters on the other.
* Eco Beach, Honnavar:
After visiting Murudeshwar, we continued our journey to Eco Beach in Honnavar, another blue flag-certified beach known for its emphasis on environmental sustainability. The beach is clean and well-maintained, with facilities that cater to eco-conscious travelers.
* Honnavar Backwaters:
One of the highlights of our trip was the backwater ride in Honnavar. The ride took us through the tranquil waters of the backwaters, surrounded by dense mangroves and lush greenery. The stillness of the water, coupled with the sounds of nature, made for a calming experience. The sunset over the backwaters was the perfect way to conclude our day, with the orange and pink hues reflecting on the water, creating a magical view.
Day 3: Final Moments by the Sea
* Bahar Beach House :
On our final day, we woke up early to enjoy some peaceful moments at the beach attached to Bahar Beach House. The secluded beach offered us complete privacy, and we made the most of the early morning hours by walking along the shore and soaking in the tranquility of the ocean.
* Malpe Sea Walk:
Our last stop was the Malpe Sea Walk, a scenic pathway that stretches out into the sea, offering panoramic views of the coastline and the vast ocean. The sea walk is perfect for a leisurely stroll, allowing us to fully take in the beauty of the Arabian Sea. The views of the surrounding islands and the fishing boats in the distance added to the charm of this location. It was the perfect way to end our trip, with the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the vast expanse of the sea stretching out before us.

Chikmagalur is super budget-friendly, and the cost mostly depending on where you stay and how you get around. You can hire a cab, hop on an auto, or rent a bike to explore the area.

Awesome content! What’s your take on the safety and restrictions for tourists right now? There's a lot of talk about landslides, flooding, and roadblocks in the ghat sections. I'd love to hear about your firsthand experience. Do you think it’s safe to plan a bike trip for the last week of August?
Thank you so much for watching and for your thoughtful comment! 🌟 Safety is definitely a top priority, especially with the current weather conditions. You're right; there have been reports of landslides, flooding, and roadblocks in the ghat sections, which can be risky. From my recent experience, while the beauty of the region is undeniable, the roads can be unpredictable during this season. If you're planning a bike trip for the last week of August, I'd suggest staying updated on the weather forecasts and local advisories. It might be wise to have a flexible plan and be prepared for potential detours or delays. Safety first, always!
Coincidentally I went to the same resort on 29th July and had same room S 208 . but all the tourist spots were closed from 17th to 1st Aug . Bad luck
