How I CHEAT at DIGITAL LINE ART - Coloring Totoro and Catbus
I work on a couple sticker designs and talk about my unique method of lining digital drawings.
Characters are Totoro and Catbus from Studio Ghibli's "My Neighbor Totoro."
Materials used are pencil, ink, and Photoshop.

A small sketchbook piece that took only about 6 hours but also EVERY MEDIUM EVER. Elairer Art Thanks very much! Confession: I don’t think I’ve ever even had fancy watercolors! I think these were actually just very cheap store brand ones- just goes to show that you don’t always need expensive supplies to be a good artist!

I am so glad to finally find a sweet review of these pens! Either it seemed people hadn't tried working with them enough, or they had made up their mind beforehand to hate them, or just being all out ridiculous in their reviews. I think you touched on some good points on the negative side and the positive side, and you actually didn't make me sad/discouraged me for trying these. Thanks for an awesome review! :)
Jennifer8Music Thanks so much for the positive feedback! I too have seen several biased review videos and genuinely wanted to help. What doesn't work for some artists might actually be a great option for others, and no one should ever feel guilty for exploring new techniques. A few months later, I still use my chameleon pens and think they're generally good markers. But I gotta say that I don't use the blending feature very often. That's just me though!
That is good to know! And you're very right about that :) SInce I don't have a preference in what medium I want to use yet, and I find blending quite a hassle, I think I will try these ones out! So thanks a bunch! And I'm glad they are still something you can use, with or without that feature :)!

Thomas Scott Thanks very much, and honestly I'm not too sure! I usually prefer drawing animals over people, and I do have a dog character that sort of represents me (but in the same way that Mickey Mouse represents Walt Disney). I've heard about a zillion definitions of "furry," and I don't think I fit most of them. But maybe I'll never know. Thanks for the comment! :)

Michelle Watson It makes me so happy that you think that! It's so important for artists at any stage to understand that there is no BAD art; there are only different techniques that you can master with practice. :)

how did i miss this??? i have seen so mNy wtj videos i think i must have seen the thumbnail to this video and thought to myself that i had already seen it but i was wrong!! ...wow you are so talented and inspiring to me i love the way you wrecked the journal and yet it is atill so beautiful i used to really like the art ones where little wrecking was involved but my favorites now are the ones that are wrecked where colors are bleeding through pages the pages are ripped and torn i think it is hard to find a wtj that is wrecked and yst still so pretty you really pulled off both juzt want to tell u i abzolutely love it i hope u xontinue to makw more creative journals!
Thanks so much! I'm really happy that it inspires you. :) Personally the "perfect" Wreck This Journals never really interested me. I figure if people don't want to follow the wtj directions, they might as well just use ordinary sketchbooks. Doing it this way really allowed me to experiment with weird materials and turn mistakes into art. I think it helped me as an artist, and it was super fun!
