Very impressed, one of the best voice for this I heard already, I could be wrong but I feel this "Maria" is a bit awkward because it's all too often in the low/ low middle register where a light high tenor voice still feels a bit restricted. Of course a very dark low tenor voice is also not on it's place here.
If you want to hear a way better interpretation search on UA-cam, Maria Carreras. Known as one of the best tenors of all time and he actually sang it in bernsteins orchestra when this piece was being made
@@yaryardank8357 Carreras is of course truly legendary here. But when I listen here again now back after all this time, I now think, a bit ashamed, that this range actually fits perfectly for him.

I get that he's not an actor and while he has a fantastic voice, he isn't quite putting the correct emotions into it. He's supposed to be joyful and in love but he just sounds bleh....

Der Song hat für mich eine ganz neue Bedeutung, seit ich meine Maria kennengelernt habe. Gott sei Dank wird dies nicht so ausgehen, wie in dem Musical. A música tem um significado totalmente novo para mim, desde que eu conheci a minha Maria. Felizmente, isso não vai acabar com a forma como o musical.

From the sound of his vocal quality, he is a lyric tenor. This aria is very heavy for him to do. I think lyric tenor arias should be done by him like from La Traviata.
A light-lyric, but more appropriately classed as a leggiero or as he calls himself a Tenorino.

@thehix Daca n-auzi Sibemoluri fa-ti un control la ORL. Pardon, sunt de fapt La# ( enarmonic cu Sibemol) pt. ca aria este in Re# minor. Sunt vreo 2 A# (enarmonice cu Sibemol). 466hz. O canta exact cum e scrisa. Ce nu-ti convine ? Daca ziceai mie nu-mi place ca nu-mi place timbrul lui sau ca nu transmite OK. Dar ai zis ca nu atinge notele. Le atinge foarte bine, sunt libere si la fix pe ton. Si las-o balta cu Costel Busuioc ca ala urla nu canta.
