I make reviews for space games, sci-fi games, and other games if I think they're worth talking about. If you enjoy what you see, then stick around... or don't.

A review of a classic space combat game from the 90's that happens to be a personal favourite of mine. need a Dr muto remaster
Hm...to my perception, those voice lines are really bad. IMO, one of the dividing lines between bad voice acting and good one, is how well you can notice that someone is forcefully changing their tone (e.g. to a lower or higher pitched voice). In the examples presented here, it's very obvious and immediately breaks any potential immersion. To me, it just sounds like people who are desperately trying to make their real voices less recognizable, like a child awkwardly trying to sound like one of their parents, while talking to a teacher on the phone. It's just cringe.
I've just learned that Deep Throat is the Watergate whistleblower's nickname.
you sound younger than me, and im glad you like this game. i loved the movie when i was a kid (and i still love the movie) and when this game came out i was reading a 'on the front cover' edition of i believe maximum pc* and the game was cannon until the sequel movie came out and wedged the game out of the cannon. i think its one of many great games from monolith *miss this magazine (magazines in general)
Loved Scrap land!!!
I spent hours trying to do the big air battle on Hard and just couldn't get through it. Just couldn't figure out how to do it better, so I quit
Finally, someone who uses the leitmotif instead of Showdown to showcase music. I love the leitmotif and how it is constantly evolving throughout the game's music.
pretty crazy how the evolution game and this have almost the same story as a virus tries to take over the grid
Gameplay is tough love, the story is not so great, but the audiovisual design is 11/10 imo. As You said You can tell they put so much work into it! My favourite detail is the fact that every single robot has a very different set of sounds it emits! Like couriers having different chirps depending on which direction they start moving in. It really makes me want to go back to it and get to know it better. But then I have to rememeber the stupid quests lol
Personally, I feel like this game is slightly overrated. It's a solid game but the story isn't all that great to me. If I were to sum it up, it would pretty much be "sore loser destroyer". I do appreciate that the game has a non-happy ending but it also felt somewhat unrealistic. I never liked the whole "country is losing so they nuke themselves" concept, even in Zero however Zero makes it up by having just a better story overall and probably one of the most memorable characters within the series.
I wish this game had been remastered on console. Who knows, maybe 1 day will even get a sequel to this game
I may be the only one, but Ive always thought the bankers models are based off the vampires from diablo 2. Creepy, floating, red-skulled, soul/money draining monsters.
RIP Cindy Morgan, died Dec. 30, 2023. Actress of Dr. Lora Baines and Yori in Tron, and voice of Ma3a in Tron 2.0.
I enjoyed the campaign way more than when I was talked to like a criminal. Check out my stunt mix.
Love to see this being talked about in recent years despite being decades old at this point. Awesome video !!
That post credits tho
Supremely badass game. You forgot to mention that Wendy Carlos did the music; it sounds authentic because It is. Took me awhile to get the balls to try and beat it on the hardest setting but I did it, just gotta spend points properly in order make your weapons (one in particular) work well on the big-bad at the end. Can't believe it's 20 years old. "Shield-break!"
I beat the game on Hard recently too. Now try doing it on a TV, using a controller and only relying on autosave, like I did. Great experience.
Also fun-fact, the Crazy Gambler's nightclub has better music in the original demo version of Scrapland. It's still in the game's files though. Look up "Scrapland Human.ogg"
I think they added it to remastered, because I hear it sometimes when I go into the gambler's joint.
That's so awesome to see this got remastered!!! Imagine this with RTX support, this would be nuts
Uhh no
@@nuclearfish010 yeah it would be...? There's tons of reflective surfaces and light sources. It would be crazy to see.
Love this game. It fits with the original Tron much better than the Daft Punk music video. Honestly the two can exist in the same universe as they don't cross over too much.
It would honestly be _very_ interesting to see how Jet Bradley and Sam Flynn would interact with each other, especially considering the outcomes of their respective character arcs. As someone pointed out on TV Tropes, Jet Bradley worked with programs against corrupt users, whereas Sam Flynn worked with users against corrupt programs. The two would have radically different viewpoints about both users and programs and might be diametrically opposed to each other if push came to shove. Such a story would _basically_ write itself, to be honest. Whether or not it's any good would depend largely on the writer, though.
I like the end when you get a boss health bar because when I saw the hit man insignia I had just realized it being there and the similarity to crimson’s insignia because after all you are both kinda two sides of the same coin both being feared ace pilots with the only difference being the lengths you will go to to win
The "they" that made House of the Dying Sun is basically one guy! Beautifully simple space combat indeed ua-cam.com/video/7zMkick82mc/v-deo.html
Tron 2.0, the legit answer and a sequel to Tron 1982 but in a video game forms. So it must play for everyone. Just like Termimator. Terminator 1&2 are the only movie to watch. The rest aren't count. So the answer to Terminator 1&2 are the game stuff that were Terminator 2029, T: Rampage, T: Future Shock, T: SkyNET, T: Dawn of Fate and T: Resistance.
Game is crazy, playing with 3 friends sometimes we have a super easy game and other times it’s insane how difficult it is for us to try and push through to desperately trying to get a sentry up
6:00 it's on the PS5 DLC 17:34 it... says the opposite on screen...
can't believe I actually played it on keyboard and mouse and somehow managed halfway of it. haven't finished it not because it was hard but because I didn't have time for it.
thank you for this video, I completely forgot about this gem.
Was just scrolling through yt and saw this Owned the game since it came out and have to say it is a brilliant one though admittedly has been a good while since i last played. Always struck me as a game that knew exactly what it wanted to do, did that and then didnt drag it out longer for the sake of it.
The bullets remind me of the start of ghost recon wow
i love this game with friends and i am so happy that it has local co op
My only complaint with PW is that the end game planes are all single seaters so no prez. It's fine until Merc difficulty, where the final mission is so difficult that playing through with a two seater is very close to the boundary of virtually impossible. I kinda wish that some of the super planes, if not all of them were two seaters so that you could enjoy the entirety of PW with best WSO and not have to resort to modding but it is what it is.
Saw this game at a flea market yesterday and it caught my eye. Almost got it, but it was too scratched up to gamble on. However, I was still curious about it so I looked online for reviews and found your video. Great retrospective on the game! I can tell it's a real love letter. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for another copy.
Wonder if I can find my old CD copy of this game for PC. I bought it for $2 because the store was clearing out inventory due to the game basically being unplayable due to bugs in an age before online patches. I'm curious if it was better on console. My memories included fun on-foot sections followed by flying sections where the enemies could kill you in a single hit, had tons of lives to respawn, required tons of hits to kill, and would bee line to health packs in hidden areas if they dropped below 75% health. Basically, if you see the enemy speed up and fly in a straight line, you just have to hit them about 25 more times in the next 5 seconds before they were full health again. Even hacking the game to give you god like power couldn't compare to the enemy AI
My childhood game.. such a nostalgic feeling. Really enjoyed it!
Nice to see another Scrapland video up on UA-cam!
This is very much like Enter The Matrix. We do not enter the "Grid World" but the "The Internet World"
It's way better than Enter The Matrix in comparison. Enter The Matrix execution was a piss poor. I played it on PS2 and I really hated how buggy it was and the coherent campaign all around are a messed..
Heard “hitman 2 comic” “hitman 3 diplomat” and went wait a minute!
After watching The Witch of Mercury, I now I understand why the mission Prospero is called like that, is not only the name of the city, but a reference of The Tempest of William Shakespeare, where the main character is called Prospero, only here, the Federation summons a apocalyptic fire storm.
V informative. Subbed!
When gamesworkshop won't make a good spacehulk shooter you do it your godamned self
Nice review mate!
I played through this whole game, and the ending actually made me cry because I loved Crimson 1 as a antagonist
Why? He blamed you for all the terrible things that he had done. To me, it was just another douchebag on the chopping block.
The gun taking up so much view space is annoying. Any way to adjust that?
That too is part of the experience. The game's environments are not only claustrophobic but your HUD is too, all to make you feel more trapped.
14:30 tip: shoot the door before opening it, hear a scream that means that a sciencetist is in the room , if you shoot and you hear nothing it is a alien
This is probably the most informative and comprehensive video about this game I've seen on youtube. It's also the only video I've seen that says exactly how to find the scientists and what they do for you.
what the fuck is this game. is the robot mc trans. i feel like this is that robots movie with obi wan kenobi.
After playing through the entire game with the Trainer F-4, I can say no game in the past decade has given me as much as a legitimate life or death feeling as fighting Crimson at the end with said F-4
Mobius One on his off day
I beat it in the f-4 but it felt funny during the furball mission seeing other poor bastards using it so late in the game.
no one talks about this game and im pretty sure its abandonware now
Mandalore uploaded a video at the same time. Are you sure you are not his alt account?
;)
Its wild that I haven't heard of this until now. I'm a regular to the Ace combat series
