1000% go do these with friends too but they're equally great if you have some time alone in the big city and are looking for something to do. Sometimes I feel like just stepping outside and breathing in NY causes my bank account to wince, so these are activities that are either cheap or completely free.

This weekend I took the train from NYC to Boston to stay with my good friend Sarah. We bopped around and had a classic Boston weekend but my favorite part was our day trip to Rockport where I finally got to breathe fresh air and lie on the beach and eat the most impeccable lobster roll.

Technically this spills over into two weeks but I had to include my first night playing in my beach volleyball league so that's that. I did a fair amount of fun stuff this week but don't be fooled sometimes I just stare a computer all day and then come home exhausted to cook dinner and veg out in my teeny tiny bedroom watching Friends. Just keeping it real.

I can officially say I have survived my first month in New York City. Wow this city has a lot going on. Getting adjusted to the chaos and finding ways to create balance and small moments of peace has been essential, but I finally feel like I'm finding a routine here. That being said, the week and weekend of the 4th kind of threw that all out of wack... but not entirely in a bad way
