If you can't get the bearing to release using this method the alternative is to remove the clutch pressure plate by rotating the engine and undoing the bolts via the clutch inspection cover.

Common problem ? I know this video is 2014 but i haven't heard a single person complaining about this. Search in google, in Australian forums, everywhere i can think off.
Australians generally have auto boxes. Has happened with most high-mileage Pajero's that I know of - at least 2 in our family.
@@tsblack how much mileage about?
@@warpunen In thousands of kilometres, high 200’s as far as I recall. Must have been very close to 300.

Good. Have such thing twice during 4 y. period Are they /heads/ prone to crack or faulty just gasket fixing?...Iam loosing my heart for this car ((; Heard manufacturer's /workshop manual/torque&angle method IS NOT right one when fixing 2nd hand head with a new gasket ??
01 September 2019 Thank you for sharing your knowledge with your informative video. Kobus Pretoria, South Africa
I also had a transmission problem, the teeth were cut on the first gear. Gave me hell for 2 years only solution was to get another box, which I did, it's been 7 years since and no problems with the second box. However the clutch plate has always been a problem resulting in a judder/ vibrations in gear 1 and reverse as you either stop whilst in gear or slowly take off. I bought my DID Shogun 2001 model second hand from somewhere up north in Windsford. Also had a problem with the injector pump had to change from electric to manual as well as a long list of other problems. One has to be very delicate on shifting gears with a Mitsubishi Pajero/ Shogun they generally seem to have problematic transmission systems.
Absolute bullshit useless information
Thanks
I really need to know how can i remove the fuel injection pump
IF I HAD SEEN THIS VIDEO 3 MONTHS AGO !!!! hahaha
clever :-)
Problema stufa
Just blew my Pajero's head gasket last week and contemplated replacing the motor, but came across this video. Now I will simply buy a new head and install it myself. Thanks for a great video.
thank you...
A good mechanic with good teaching and camera skills, a rare find. It makes me think that I should be very picky in selecting the shop for doing such job. After a "reputable" transmission shop rebuilt my car transmission and re-assembled it back, I got leaky CV shafts gaskets, wires routed wrong, and a loud noise when shifting in reverse. After I watched this video, I am thinking that there are not too many mechanics following the service manual procedures and correct bolts torque
Top video. Thank you!
The Turbo can be left on including oil feed and lower turbo water pipe. Exhaust manifold unbolts from the turbo-one bolt and two double nutted studs
How much would a job like this cost to do , I think my shogun has head issues it keeps dumping the coolant into the expansion tank , had a sniff test done but that came back negative
labour prob 300-400 quid at independent garage, but you need a new head too. Don't waste money on a recon one
Great video just taking on a job similar to this next week you took of the timing chain tensioner all together yes? Just reading about it, does this have to be reset or something before putting back in?
Where did you get the gearbox bearing plate?
Mitsubishi dealer. You don't have to buy a new one if you know someone who can grind it flat.
good job!great video
Yep did just that and now she sweet ,i just had my retainer plate machined down till no groove left ,thanks for your vid ,cheers
my gearbox has exact problem and wear on retainer plate ,bearings seem to loose in housing ? is this how they come out as it dosent look like any wear in case ?
The bearing rotates in the housing creating wear in the housing and the steel retainer plate. Just centre punch the housing to make a tight fit and using bearing lock fluid.
GREAT VIDEO THX
