ONE MONTH POST-OP VLOG - FTM transition top surgery
On July 19th 2021, I had top surgery (double incision mastectomy) with Dr. McKee at the False Creek Surgical Center (Vancouver, BC).
I have been recording small clips of my experience since my surgical date and could not be any more excited to share it with you today as I achieve my one month post-op milestone!
I am so grateful to Dr. Mckee and his team for liberating me and bringing me so. much. joy. I am finally free (literally... literally free from binding haha) and can now experience the sensation of my bare chest against a flat white T-shirt!
Thank you for following along as I navigate this wild ride. I appreciate you all dearly. xx.

I've gotten a lot of questions lately regarding the testosterone injections I take as part of my medical transition from female to male. Since you're here, why don't you grab a seat and take a (t) shot with me? I'll walk you through the entire process - from what I keep in my injection kit, how I draw up my injection, and how I self-administer it. If you like this video, please subscribe to my ...

TWO WEEKS ON TESTOSTERONE - FTM Transition Update
Переглядів 1,5 тис.3 роки тому
I am two weeks on testosterone hormone replacement therapy! In this video, I discuss some of the preliminary changes I have noticed during the first two weeks of my medical transition. Most of the changes I noticed have to do with my mood, but there have also been a few subtle changes in my physical appearance which I am thrilled about! One whole month! We need a parade.
Not sure if I missed it but would you be able to share your dosage? I’m on 0.1 mL. First week
thank you so much for this video, dr mckee is the one im going to go with too! this was the cherry on top of all the other research ive done :3
I appreciate this so much! I’m currently researching surgeons for my top surgery this year and I’m very thankful about you sharing your experience ❤
Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I'll be seeing Dr. McKee for my top surgery and this was a great way to know more of what to expect
I’m only one week on T and I as well am normally really really cold and now I can’t really sleep without the AC on 😂😂
Thank you for this. I relate so much to the "Testosterone will change everything overnight" thought. And the first few days I was excited and happy, but then my body got reaaally tired and an incredibly sadness invaded me. I wasn't able to get up off bed. Yep, testosterone won't make you instantly happy and not depressed, that's a mental state I have to get treatment for. I'm, of course, still grateful and excited for t and my journey, but is not some magical juice
Stop being male because your not male. You were born as female and that's it. That's just in your f****g head. YOU'RE A WOMAN!!! WOMAN!!! WOMAN!!!
You just ruined perfect woman's body.
Awesome dude!
I love your energy! Congrats are the T and the transition. I appreciate how deeply researched and knowledgeable you are and for sharing your experiences honestly and acknowledging the 'positive' and 'negative'. Also thank you for mentioning your experience with co-existing health issues--that's something that's been part of my gender/transition experience (particularly I have issues that make binding painful)... it's awesome to hear someone talk about it. Also I see copy of Braiding Sweetgrass in the background :)
Curious my doctor didn’t tell me the 45° angle I just go straight in
Thank you for sharing your surgery experience and outcome Stephen! You look awesome! 😊 Happy for you!
AWYISSSS! Super proud of you and happy for you! Your chest is looking GREAT! And omfg working out once that weight is off your chest is an entirely new feeling. Excited for you to ease into that and enjoy dat new bod! Also the soreness and stiffness should improve when you're binder free. I still get aches once in a while, but it's different from before.
Yooooo! Your voice has def started to drop! And the voice cracking is fun for me too since I just use it to remind myself my dude puberty has started. I'm soooo proud of you and excited for you and how masc your face is getting and DAT SIDEBURN POWER. As for body odor, I'm not sure if you've tried hitting up men's deo and bodywash, specially the eucalyptus/minty ones. Using those has made me less stinky but also given me a good bit of gender euphoria!
So excited for you and your journey! And is that a copy of Braiding Sweetgrass I see behind you?? You are after my own heart for real :D
Also, I finally made a coming out video a couple of weeks ago. I put my voice updates up too. I feel you on the acne....mine kicked in within the last two months
Awesome Stephen! I hope your top surgery and recovery goes well! I'm waiting to hear back from my insurance to set a top surgery date. At least both of my letters are in.
Congrats! You look so good!! I started T yesterday. I look forward to your videos :)
Congrats on starting T! :)
Hey dude just wanted to say I really enjoyed your video I’ve been looking these up for years and I think you addressed a lot of good things in a really great way so just wanted to say thanks! Haha found it one of the most helpful today. Looking forward to seeing more good luck with your journey!!
Just like you to know I enjoyed this video Young man enjoy life
thank you so much stephen! pleaseee keep posting your process and how you handle everything, i’m 14 and planning on coming out in september, my 15th birthday, i’m just nervous about testosterones, but i do have a year until i’m 16 and then i can finally take the shots, i want it but it just don’t know how anything works. but thank you for taking the time to show us your process :D 💜
Where u got testosterone? Buy online or meet doctor?
Yes
Yoooo. This was super fascinating. I opted for androgel since I was really not into the idea of dealing with needles but this def helped make it less scary and if I ever have to switch method later on down the line, I won't be completely writing off needles anymore. Thanks for this!
(lowkey wanna collab later on down the line and exchange notes re: injections vs gel)
@@benjaminfoucault4839 Also I gotta say you are rockin that hat. I'm lucky to have decent work benefits that cover like 80% of the cost of prescribed meds and hormones are part of that umbrella, praise jeebus i am in a good country. It's like 180CAD and I just had to pay like 40 and at my current dose, it'll last me like two months. Doing it daily has been surprisingly not the biggest deal for me since I've smoothly woven it into my routine of wake up, wash face, apply gel, weigh self, take progress pic, get dressed, take vitamins, walk dog. It does complicate things a bit in that morning workouts are out of the question and idk if i'd be able to bike to work when we're finally called back to working in-house. And I have to do Big Think and mathematical gymnastics if i have like an RMT appointment or whatever in the morning and think of how early i can apply it before my appointment or how late in the day i'll have to do it after my appointment. ITS A WHOLE THING. I think my biggest reason for going with the gel is that I'm pretty much still recovering from a change in antidepressants and a bout of mood issues and I figured a more level, daily dose would be easier for my body and brain to adapt to since I've heard a tendency for there to be highs and lows tied to shot day and the couple of days before the next shot is due.
This video is really helpful! You shared a lot of things that I hadn't heard mentioned in many other ftm videos. I hope you start to feel better!
It's definitely possible to be more dysphoric after starting testosterone. I think it is a self-awareness type of thing. I'm 6 months on T now (trans man). It's a bit of a waiting game the first few months. I couldn't really tell a difference until month 4. It does get better! Here's some tips: black T shirts help hide curves, cargo shorts can help hide thighs (if you're thicc like me), and make sure to get deodorant. If the testosterone stank hasn't hit you yet, it eventually will (oof). I hope you have a good day :) -Dakota
Hey Stephen, happy 1 month on T!
Lmaoo the covid or transitioning?? thing is such a mood. I feel youuu. I was telling friends about my itchy throat and they were like 👀 is that covid 👀 My two week mark is tomorrow and i'm probably gonna record then. I was gonna ask what skincare stuff you started stocking up on? I'm not quite breaking out yet but i do see the early stages of it on my face and shoulders. I am dumb as bricks when it comes to skincare lmao And omg i feel you on the mood stuff. I did have a bit of a temper before T but it's harder to manage than usual and my moods are all over the place. I think I'm also on a lower dose since I just started and I'm hoping I can go higher when i have my next appointment in a few weeks. I'm kind of the opposite with energy. I think i'm sleeping less and it's harder for me to fall asleep and then i'm antsy and itching to move when i'm awake. And I definitely feel you on the dysphoria and feeling not dude enough. It's been a struggle in my head. I do feel euphoria on random things I notice, which is super exciting. Lmao sorry for the long comment. Highkey got excited bumping into someone on a similar timeline in a nearby area. (vancouver dude here)
@@benjaminfoucault4839 ahhh looking forward to watching that video! I saw the fuzz in your IG and am hella excited for you
So beautifully spoken! Thank you for sharing your journey Stephen 🥺💖🤍💙
