#WalkingThroughThePain® presents A Walk Around The San Francisco Bay EP 11 Menlo To Sweeney Ridge
Episode 11 of my series, A Walk Around The San Francisco Bay, picks up on November 5, 2024, where the journey last paused. A bus drops me off just north of Bedwell Bayfront Park in Menlo Park at Mile 8,001.
I trek 9 miles through Redwood City, passing Edgewood Park and Nature Preserve, and eventually reach a spot along the Crystal Springs Trail, a mile south of the Upper Crystal Springs Reservoir.
The next morning, November 6, I wake up at Mile 8,010. Ensuring I Leave No Trace, I set off and soon catch my first glimpse of the Upper Crystal Springs Reservoir. As I continue toward the Lower Crystal Springs Reservoir, I discover the trail is closed for a few days due to red flag fire warnings. With dry conditions and heavy winds anticipated, wildfire risk is high. This means 10 miles of road walking to find a safe spot to rest. By Mile 8,015, at the south trailhead of the Sawyer Camp Trail, I catch a ride back to San Francisco, where a friend offers a place to stay.
On November 9, I return to the Sawyer Camp Trail’s south trailhead. Although the red flag warning has been lifted, a section of the trail remains closed until year-end, necessitating a 6-mile detour. I follow Skyline Boulevard and side roads to reach the San Andreas Reservoir trailhead at Hillcrest Road. After a few more miles, I’m back to road walking until reaching the Sneath Lane Trailhead at Sweeney Ridge in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
Finally, I embark on a nearly 2-mile climb to Sweeney Ridge, where, after a 12-mile day, I’m greeted with incredible night views of the cities below.
On November 10, I wake up to a stunning sunrise view at Mile 8,027, high enough to see both the Pacific Ocean on one side and San Francisco Bay on the other.
As usual, I end this episode with an invitation: Come walk a mile with me and experience the magic.
After the credits, a sneak peek of the next episode awaits.

This is where I grew up and lived until 2 years ago, Thanks so much for this. Brings a tear to my eye!
Hell yeah seth! Me and my boyfriend were watching the fire dancers through your camera and you turned around and talked to us when you were done filming saturday 😂 i love your message hope to see you and walk with you at next fair!
Awesome!! I have face blindness, so when you see me…stop me n we’ll smoke. Connect on Facebook too to see updates of my current walk from Tijuana border to Canada. Tomorrow I had planned to walk through Malibu. I’m currently in Venice Beach/Santa Monica. It’s been an exciting 140 miles or so.
Barter Faire and Patterns are a special kind of energy and a match made in heaven. Thank you for your light beautiful people!!🫶
@@jennifercastro6588 I agree. I knew when I heard the lyrics, I knew I was recording something amazing. The feel good vibe just fits in with the Faire and with my journey as well. Keep Rollin On :)
Gorgeous views man! I met you at barter faire the very first night, if you’re ever back in Bellingham I’d love walk a mile or 2 with ya! I was the one who told you I was born with a club foot so I experience a lot of chronic pain myself, would love to get to know you better :)
Right on! Next time I’m coming through, I’ll reach out.
How to connect to pete via email or WhatsApp from oversea .his website cannot be accessed here oversea
She and you are awesome ♥
Love you fam! This is great!!
So sad I missed you! Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us!
Everytime I see videos from Barter faire I can’t help but tear up from all the love and excitement to go back 🥰 I’m so glad you got all this. Great job with the walking to! If you happen to go back to Faire again I’d love to get to talk with you in person. I’m going to have a “Tell us what you know” booth where I’ll be compiling some of the most important information people have learned throughout life/ things that have changed their perspective for the better. There are so many wise people there and I’m sure you’d have a lot to share 😊 Eventually I will be putting all the shared stories into a book.
Love the nature! That cemetery was wild too! Thanks for sharing and making interesting content man! Always cool to check in with your channel.
Teddy Bear Cove looks like a really peaceful spot.

Hope to see you at fall Barter Faire!

Maverick Came Out The Year I Was Born And Power Tower Came Out The Year My Brother And My Sister Were Born
@@EllenJacob-Oliver Nice! I was born a couple years before the Gemini. I remember when they had a double Ferris wheel about where the Ocean Motion is now. It’s pretty amazing the live through all the changes the park has made since the mid 1970s. My family would go every year through the 80s & 90s. We lived about a 45 min drive away. Prior to this year, I hadn’t been about 20+ years since I’ve been.
@@walkingthroughthepain My First Year Of Going To Cedar Point Was Back In 2014 I Was 7 Years Old And Thats The Year I Went On Blue Streak And I Didn't Like It When I Was Younger And Now Im 17 Years Old
@@EllenJacob-Oliver my first was the Wild Cat (similar to the wild mouse…I prefer the cat to the mouse). Blue streak was next but seats were different. I shared the seat, belt and lap bar with my dad who was close to 300 lbs. I would fly up out the seat. Now everyone has their own restraints and a divider is between ride partners.
@@walkingthroughthepain I Went On Wild Mouse Not Thinking I Was Not Gonna Like It And Sure Enough I Went On It Last Year And Omg I Loved It I Know Some People Think That The Ride Is Stupid But I Think Its Awesome And Fun I Went On It Last Year On May 27th On Memorial Day Weekend And I Loved It
It was a good time. Thanks, Seth!
Thank you! She shares some really awesome tips for making FECO at home... Super cool!
If you stay on the train, you go thru the animitronic "Boneville." You either have to get on on Frontier Town or just stay on the train. So sorry you missed it!.
Yeah I caught it when I went returned a couple weeks later. I was quite happy to see :)
@walkingthroughthepain I love that part because it reminds me of when I visited the park with my mom and dad when I was too short for most rides. They're both gone now, but I have great memories of our annual visits there. I was the youngest of 10 kids. I can't imagine how they wrangled us throughout the park!
@@PatrickRyan150 my dads work used to have their yearly company picnic there until the late 80s. Sad to see the boat ride gone tho. I’d totally appreciate it now that I’m older.
@walkingthroughthepain I agree, sad to see it go.
I just bought a pair of go walk shoes for my trip to Cedar Point this week! Great video, it looks like great fun!
