My 1100 was delivered today. A "must-have" for every layout/collection. The real 1100 is today (April 2024) sitting peacefully in a dead line outside one of the Amtrak Beech Grove buildings with strings of other idle motive power. 1100 was the Beech Grove switcher for many years and did a stint in Wilmington as well. It appears to be in good shape (no collision damage) in paint very similar to this model. I sure hope at some point Amtrak reactivates her or puts her in the hands of a deserving rail organization. The 1100 appears in a number of UA-cam Beech Grove drone videos.

So this locomotive really smokes ? I didn't see it in the video. From all the videos I've seen I never knew it smoked nore seen it smoke. If I would have known I would have gotten this set instead of the Thunder chief I got.....now ima have to get this one now.

Why would you reverse a single ended PCC car? I can understand a double ended Kawasaki or older Red Arrow cars.

I highly recommend replacing the black roadbed track with the grey version. Reason is because the steel rails will definitely get rusty as heck over time, and that's just a pain to have to deal with. The Grey roadbed track has nickel silver rails, that will NOT rust. However....a greater alternative would be to invest in an oval of Kato Uni-trak and a power pack from them. Their rails are also nickel silver and have a better track connector setup that won't fracture over time like Bachmann EZ-Track tends to do after numerous handlings. Kato's track connectors can be replaced, whereas bachmanns will break off ,thus you'd have to get new sections of track.
