@@mthemekanic I replaced it right after this comment. Took it to a shop to diagnose the ac they quoted $1500 for a whole replacement every component. Switched this sensor since it was throwing a code (come to find out the harness was cut off too, fixed that) and ac works perfectly now. 😒 damn shame.

So you put positive to battery and put the wrench on negative terminal on fuel pump?

@@Blanca-hg4rx No that’s a different style eye lid that I put on the negative terminal. They have all kinds of different types of eye lids. That one in particular looks like a mini wrench.

Come correct when you’re asking for information! All you had to do was ask. So try again bro! I have no problem with walking you through the process.

Unhook the fuel line and hold it over a can and start bike. If fuel comes pouring out fuel pump is working. If not fuel pump crapped. Next take spark plugs out and hold the end of the plug over the engine or frame while it is still plugged into the coil wire and crank it. Should see a fat blue spark. If not, the plug needs replaced and also cut a half inch off the end of the spark plug wire and rescrew it back onto the coil wire tightly and try again.

What’s up @makosharkcnc7730. It’s not hard to replace the fuel injectors and if you take your time and don’t lose any parts or break any old parts due to rust depending on the condition of your vehicle I’d say about 2 1/2 hrs. Get all new seals for each injector & use dielectric grease for each electrical connection.

@@Niqu33n Usually a random misfire is from your spark plugs. Fuel injector problems will show a different code on your dash board. Be to be sure & to easily check hit up Auto zone or Advance Auto Parts and as for a code scanner that you can plug into your car. They have ones that are cheap that can help you find out what code you are seeing. Underneath your steering wheel there should be a plug in spot that you plug the code reader into.

@@Niqu33nOk that’s the computer telling you about the misfire. You could do the job yourself or you could I take it to your local mechanic if you can make it there with out it cutting off and see what they say. Mention a misfire and you would like a tune up. Which will be new spark plugs and coils.

What’s up Btb488. So you only can start your bike once but after the third or 4th time it won’t start? Then you have to give it gas to start? Is that what you meant by accelerate then your bike starts?

Engine oil level is checked when engine switched OFF. See page 53 , Honda CBR250R Owner's Manual.

It’s the power steering pump indicating that it’s working and pushing more power to the steering system.

You only can hold the wheel all the way to the right or the left for no longer than 5seconds anything longer will put more strain on the pump and blow it!

Until your fluid is completely clear, no air bubbles are visible and your break fluid is no longer Amber color in each reservoir. So there really isn’t a number of times you need to open and close. Just a matter of clean fluid and no air within the lines. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the comment and information Voltedge679. I would definitely change the whole unit! Mines was doing the same thing. I changed only the pump the first time and two wires going to the pump as well. Bike worked great after that & then 4 months later the problem happened again. So the second time around I replaced the whole fuel sending unit along with the fuel injector. Since then no problems.

What’s up J! So I’m glad you found out it was the injector. And no the job is not difficult at all. If you can see if you can find a few videos on your specific bike to help. But if not it’s just a matter of disconnecting the battery, draining the fuel, unscrewing the side fairings, unbolting the gas tank, disconnecting the fuel lines and boom there’s your fuel injector.

@@mthemekanic you have me wondering if i shoulda replaced the plastic housing for the fuel pump like you did mine is a CbR. 250 like yours.

@@jasonrickard4484 Yeah, only reason why I replaced mines completely is because it was the original. When I did the job the 1st time, I just replaced wiring going to the fuel pump and the fuel pump itself. But the wiring to the fuel sending until I left alone and the fuel injector I couldn’t get to the first time. So once the bike started after the pump was replaced i thought I was good to go. “WRONG” Lol. 4 months later same problem repeated itself. The bike was reading no fuel on the gage & would not start again when I had a full tank of fuel so I knew it had to be something wrong with the unit itself. So the 2nd time around i cleaned out the tank completely, put in a new fuel injector and replaced the whole entire unit itself due to the corrosion In between the connections on the wiring from the old unit. This way I have more life out of everything replaced. The original parts were on the bike since the bike was manufactured in 2012 so they lasted for a good while. I also put in a new spark plug, changed the oil and threw in a new fuel filter and brought a new battery. Now I’ll just make sure to put in a good fuel stabilizer during the winter season to preserve the fuel. So if you have a 250 like mines I would definitely replace the entire unit. They have them for a good price on eBay sold new. That’s where I got mines from. Unless you just want to replace all the wires on the fuel unit which is fine too just be sure to clean off the connections really well.

@@mthemekanic Yup thats what i did i replaced the pump and now my gas light blinks as im trying to start it. I have never actually heard this motorcycle because i bought not running. Due to neglect its the same year yours is, low miles so i copped it.

@@jasonrickard4484 low miles on mines too 1,956 so yes your having the same exact problem I had. Tank full of fuel with a blinking gas light. Replace the whole unit and he fuel injector and clean out the gas tank and buy that torque set to move a sensor out of you way to get to the fuel injector. After that put fresh gas in it and make sure the battery is fully charged and you will be good to go. All 3 videos I did should help you out. It’s not a hard job to due. Just have everything ready and pick a day to get it done. You can do this J!

Hey @aperturetech607 thanks for the reply! So from what I’m reading if I were you I’d would definitely clean the tank and change the fuel filter and pump. Check your fuel injector as well it doesn’t take much for them to clog. Honestly if you replace one thing in the fuel system i recommend replacing everything. Reason why is due to everything circulating that current fuel and having the same wear & tear mileage. So save your self time and money and just replace all 3 parts. This way your giving yourself a fresh start with new parts and even wear & tear. Check your fuel hose’s too! Over time they deteriorate and the rubber pieces chip off & float throughout the fuel system. Also If you have a full tank and everything runs ok but then you get to 3 bars and it wants to die out that seems like the pump is picking up whatever is left at the bottom of the tank which usually is rust. Fuel is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air. So parts began to rust out inside over time. Especially in the winter when the bike sits. Once you have changed the filter, the pump & the injector I would add a good fuel stabilizer to the system to help minimize heavy rusting. And drive it from time to time in the winter to circulate that fuel. Let me know if you have any more questions or if this makes any sense to you.

What’s up Jason! Great question!!! And no nothing electrical has to be reset. I actually will redo the job again because I was unable to change the fuel injector. I needed the security hex bit set in order to remove the fuel injector which at the time I didn’t have. Do you have a similar setup that your trying to fix?

@@mthemekanic Thanks for the reply, man i bought a 2012 Cbr 250 that didint run a woman had it rode it exactly 2400 miles give or take ten. She is kinda well off and really didint care about the bike anymore. I have it now and started replacing the obvious. remember this is my first CBR only had dirt bikes so off common sense i replaced air filter spark plug and fuel filter and fuel pump. gas tank had alot of rust in it. So i bought a new fuel tank and battery. old plug looked ok light brown desert color so i try and start it fuel pump primes. kemsco fuel pump. Nothing but starter. oil in it was not burned man what could be the issue i did a rolling throw in gear compression check and its getting plenty of that. its gotta be electrical or injector. What do yoiu think?

The bike does not so much as have a scratch on it.. I especially not a Honda have ever seen anything like it. a NIce honda with new parts not start. its gotta be something stupid smal im not doing. Can you go thrue the start up procedure with me buttins what controls what all i have is a haynes manual.

@@jasonrickard4484Sounds like you did everything right Jason. I would buy a spark plug tester to see if you have spark. It’s a easy tool to use to test and see if you have a good spark. If not it maybe the fuel injector. I know for mines it’s definitely the fuel injector. I should have cleaned out the rust in the tank but I didn’t so now I’m back at square one again. It only takes a small few pieces of rust to clog up the wholes. As long as you here that fuel pump prime for that short period when you 1st turn that key then you know the pump is good. I would definitely check to see if you have spark coming from the ignition wire and if so then shoot for the fuel injector. Give those two a shot before you aim for finding a electrical issue.

@@jasonrickard4484 Start up procedure make sure it’s in neutral, Kill switch to the right of the throttle is off. Turn the key to the on position, you should hear a winding sound from the pump for like 1 to 2 seconds while the needle on your dash goes from left to right back to left after the pump has primed. Then you push ignition button on the throttle and the bike should start.
