Really Thank You for sharing
Hi people nice video, greetings from Costa Rica!
When I was a young engineer, I was working on an electric utility substation. As is and was common there were two138kV/13.8kV transformers feeding identical switchgear. The gear had anything from 8 to 12 individual; feeders. The normal feeders on one of the subs were the even numbered (2, 4, etc), and the odd feeders were backups for the other sub. On the other sub, the even were back ups and the odd were the normal. I was working with a team installing a new breaker on one of the subs, and I don't recall if it was a normal or a backup. Its twin on the other sub had already been installed and the wiring was complete. I am pretty anal about being certain the two identical feeders be physically wired the same way. To ensure this I went to the other sub to verify the wire routing. Idiot that I was, I opened the door and started to walk in so I could trace the wiring. I had taken my first step, when I realized that the circuit breaker was not in the cubicle and there was bare, uninsulated 13.8 kV energized bus directly in front of me. Time has changed the memory but it seemed like I was only inches from the bus. (Probably was farther but it seems that way 5 decades later. Fortunately, I saw it in time to reverse course, back out, and close the door. I sat down on the concrete pad and started to shake. A few minutes later one of the relay testers that I was working with missed me and came to check on me. When I told him what had happened, the first thing he did was take a rather significant chunk our of my hind quarters. Then, seeing how badly I was shaking he sent me home for the rest of the day. So that is my near miss story. Yes, it stays with you. This happened about 1970. John Cadick
excellent
It's two phase 4 wire (un-grounded) found in some old sections in inner cities.
Enjoyed watching this interview to share in the evolution of the grass-roots beginning, to being in the day-to-day and looking forward to the future insights as mentioned as well.
very, very,very, cool
very, very, very nise
My fiancé is suffering these exact things. Dr’s not believing and people laughing him off. Shocked because of employee mistake causing a ground fault last November and his abilities have dropped drastically. He reported it but the employer made him sit in the sun awaiting a taxi and he had to walk home from workmed. He’s trying to find a lawyer who will actually listen to him. I’m super worried about him because he’s very depressed and not confident he can succeed with another job if he tries to find work elsewhere. He has PTSD and feels like his life is pretty much ruined. This is in Utah, USA. Do you know where he can get help?
We are sorry to hear of this. If you're still looking for help, contact John Knoll on LinkedIn. He may be able to point you in the right direction. www.linkedin.com/in/john-knoll-pec/
Do these devices comply with Australian standards?
Yes, we also have products specifically designed for the Australian market. Contact Sales@GraceTechnologies.com to learn more.
I like your video ❤❤❤❤
In regard to the untraceable trend problems caused by variation in load, RPM, and even oil temperature, data-driven method like machine learning could be a real crucial helpful tool.
Wow Canadian OH&S is really terrible!! Australia is getting there but as you say John, it’s only worth anything when it’s being checked and enforced
Question about the 8:20 segment. Is the Final 'Live' check (following the 'dead' check) in the "Live, Live, Dead, Live" procedure specifically documented in NFPA 70E or is it an 'above and beyond' thing?
The steps for Establishing and Verifying an electrically safe working condition as outlined in NFPA 70E 120.5 are as follows: Step 1: Prepare for the job. Identify all sources of electrical supply, equipment, and circuits involved in the work. Step 2: De-energize the equipment. Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to de-energize the equipment and isolate it from all energy sources. Step 3: Verify the de-energized state. Use appropriate test equipment, such as a voltage tester, to confirm that the equipment is de-energized. This is the "dead" test. Step 4: Perform the work. Once the equipment is confirmed to be de-energized, work can be performed on it safely. Step 5: Verify the absence of voltage. After completing the work, retest to verify the absence of voltage. This is the "live-dead-live" test, which involves testing for voltage to ensure that the equipment is still de-energized before removing lockout/tagout devices. Step 6: Restore the equipment. Once the absence of voltage is confirmed, the equipment can be safely restored to an energized state, if required, following proper procedures. It is important to note that the specific code language regarding the "live-dead-live" test can be found in NFPA 70E 120.5(D)(1) which states, "Verify the absence of voltage using a properly rated test instrument before and after each test, measurement, or diagnostic procedure, unless the absence of voltage is determined before and continuously monitored during the task by a qualified person."
So many thanks for sharing 👍
I've seen bearing failure in "real time" which caused the shaft to abruptly stop at 4000 rpm during run-down. The so called "haystack" on the spectrum became very prominent prior to failure. We were relying only on spectrum magnitudes and no enveloping was being done. Another time when I saw an ISB failure, a few days prior to the event, the high rotor vibration dropped abruptly and the low rotor vibration spiked suddenly on the strip chart at the same instant.
Keep on making More videos please..🔥🔥🔥
Thank You!
Thanks for your video
Brilliant. Thank you.

Question concerning PPE selection at the 25.45 mark. Can the incident energy be used to determine category PPE? Per 130.5(F) "Arc Flash PPE - The results of an incident energy analysis to specify an arc flash PPE category in Table 130.7(C)(15)(c) shall not be permitted"
Thank you for your question. This webinar featured a guest presenter so we will not speak on his behalf, but you are more than welcome to reach out to him on LinkedIn and ask him anything about Electrical Safety. He would love that! www.linkedin.com/in/charles-r-miller-68ab0914/ In the meantime, we will pass along your question and post an update here when he responds.
Well done. Thank you for all the details!
Terry Becker is nothing if not thorough! Glad you enjoyed.
Like the sharp haircut Don, was talking about you today as I was with Dennis Green - hope you are well buddie!

Why doesn't this have more views or likes?
Very interesting, but vibrations analyser still very expensive, otherwise, many vibrations defects could be detected at the day of birth, I wish you could make experiments of turning systems, to see and understand more how to use vibration periodic table
Good point. However, more affordable options are emerging. Check out GracePort.com/GraceSense to learn about our vibration analysis solutions!
