Written by Alton Delmore as "Beautiful Brown Eyes" and recorded by the Delmore Brothers in 1951. I think I first heard the song sung by a vocal trio during a Fundy Folk Night at the firehall in Margaretsville, Nova Scotia in 1991. Rain Coming Down. Written on a ukulele on a sunny day in the Summer of 2020. Go figure. Recorded in the Autumn. An experiment with a 12 bar blues form, placing the refrain on the middle 4. Harri Palm contributed the electric guitar part.

First verse is the opening paragraph of the Albert Camus novel "The Outsider". The second verse is my own. And experiment with setting the natural speech cadences of prose to melody. The orchestral arrangement is done with Spitfire Audio's "Discovery" software made from samples of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The composition and arrangement is mine.

Written in 2019 sometime (April?), composed and arranged through the recording process. Recorded in Ableton Live and made as a sketch, really, to familiarize myself with the program. I thought it was uncharacteristic of me at the time, but it's grown on me. The video is shot at a duration of 10 minutes (I think) and then sped up to match the duration of the song.
