During a record rainfall event on April 30, 2017, floodwaters scoured several large holes in the downstream face of the dam. The dam is still fully functioning; however, the downstream slope must be repaired. An Emergency Watershed Protection Program (EWP) funded project is currently underway to rebuild the dam to a stable and pre-disaster condition.

I am so excited to have found out about this program. I am a small first generation farmer & I am bootstrapping my business & its been difficult. So I am hoping to be approved for this program!

Great story about this first SCS watershed Project and its needed repair after all these years. I learned of this via Richard Byran, retired Soil Conservation Service technician in Arkansas who came to California to help us with EWP work some years back. Great Guy, - Bill Ward, former Design Staff Leader in California, now retired.
