My instructions all say to grow my broccoli sprouts for five days, kinda curious why you only say three is it to do with the stages of development or am I missing something?😅

Fid you know brocooli, cabbage, kale and a few others are from the same plant. Wild mustard was used many years ago to grow these plants

I learned about broccoli sprouts on Dave Asprey podcast the human upgrade and have been eating sprouts every day since because of the extreme health benefits. I put them in everything. It’s the only vegetable that I eat now saving me a fortune so folks it’s worth figuring out how you can make the sprouts a part of your daily routine. You don’t necessarily need to buy all the contraptions they sell. It took me a couple of days to figure out where to store them and how to rinse them to get rid of the husks. Then just put them in the refrigerator when they’re done with the last stage, which is giving them light to make chlorophyll. I’m so excited because I never could get into making a salad with all those overpriced ingredients and then the washing and the chopping. I’m so glad those days are over for me 🎉 Don’t pack them so tight as that will attract mold. Must rinse three times a day. That could be tricky for some people’s schedule so we need to experiment and see if we can do this in the refrigerator instead of in a cupboard?

You are misinformed: When sprouts are consumed fresh (uncooked), however, the principal degradation product of broccoli is not the isothiocyanate sulforaphane, but a nitrile, a compound with little anti-cancer potential. By contrast, radish sprouts produce largely the anti-cancer isothiocyanate, sulforaphene.”

Dr Talalay at Johns Hopkins University was so successful at showing sulphoraphane fought cancer that Johns Hopkins set him up with the Bressica Lab, and then they tried to patent brocoli sprouts. They actually were granted a patent in 1997 and 1998, but ultimately they lost their litigation in 2002 at the Supreme Court, who ruled they could not own a patent on broccoli. Johns Hopkins dropped the issue when they found they couldn't make money off it. And of course big pharma won't touch it, bcz they make money by patenting molecules. The "health care" industry is primarily "for profit", and things that actually heal people come dead last on their list of priorities.

Banana contains an enzyme called polyphenol oxidase that can oxidize the antioxidants in the beverage and in your gut. Best to avoid banana and you’re good to go. Great videos keep up the good work!

Thank you for this beautiful recipe. Do I need to stir the syrup after the sugar has dissolved and while I am waiting for it to reach the correct temperature? Or leave it simmering without stirring?

Did you ever try using half the water mixed with the corn starch and adding cream of tartar to the starch water. I feel it might take less time for the final cook time.

Well said. You really don't need to add very much water to it, because you want to achieve a texture that is very hard to stir, it should be really thick. The reason for this is that you can't achieve that fabulous sticky, chewy texture otherwise. It also helps prevent the delights from sweating out too much liquid.
