What a nice looking car. I had a couple of different Darts/Dart Sport that I used to mainly street race on Long Island mostly but occasionally at the track,my favorite was Hampton Dragway. Won quite a few races on the street but also lost a couple just to keep me humble, lol. Hot Rod Burger King in Bethpage was the original meeting spot. I'll never forget those days, racing on route 109,Newbridge Rd.,Sunrise Highway out in Bayshore,Route 231,etc. We called ourselves "The Dodge Boys". What great times,a LOT of quick cars and BS-ing going on. Thanks for the memories, Dave Rothman.
@@daveh7186 Yes,New Highway, all concrete and a nice straight run! I knew Pete Pudlin,at the time I think he had a few cars, like a 426 crossram in a 73 Plymouth Savoy I believe. A nice Hemi Belvedere too. We actually had a lot of runs on New Highway. Started just East of the firehouse . In fact we were the ones who wheeled out 1320 feet where I spray painted a large white finish line on the steel highway divider. Good times!
@@daverothman4381 i’m still on the island , how about you? Pete had a black, 68 hemi dart , a 63 ram charger and another lightweight , maybe the One you were talking about however, there was always great speculation that all of them were clones . I asked Pete directly, and he shied away from answering as I recall . I didn’t care whether they were original or not, his cars were cool as hell .
Yes,live in West Islip now. I meant 63 Savoy by the way! I'm not the right person to ask regarding original versus clones but the cars were cool and unique all the same. I just wanted to drag race and go as gast as I can. As each year passed the street cars got faster and faster,so for a while it was fun trying to keep up. Until you could no longer afford that is,lol. Towards the end we ran a Plymouth Arrow with a small block 340. It ran 10.0's ,all muscle. Had nitrous but never used it. Too hairy a ride. The car needed more suspension work.
Wow, this just popped up for me to watch. 7/21 I am very happy it did. Incredible car and a serious looker. 9.10, O heck yeah, congratulations brother. I hope you still have her.
It's basically a two pronged assault the competition in SS could not overcome. Bad enough that the hemi at e everybody else's lunch, the Torqueflite was way ahead of the TH 400. The C-6 was better than the TH but still not a "flite"!. Many high gear clutches welded up by both tryin to stay up with the 727. In the end, only the rulebook saved any of them.
Watch the wheelie bar bounce during the burnout. What does that? Hitting second gear with the accumulator blocked, double wrap band and 15 springs to release the front clutch piston .
Beautiful car. I almost think nicer than mine. Buut. LOL She runs sweet too. Take care of her Brother. Have a great life and stay safe. Oh well seven years ago still hope all is great Later.
Man that thing goes well they all do I got a friend with a 68 hemi barracuda that’s got a race hemi in it it goes 8s in quarter they have them all figured out now days but that dart looks real fine going down the track
NICE CAR !, I have a restored 1968 GT Convertible but I still need the wide trunk lid Trim Panel, mine somehow got lost at the Restoration Shop. Do you have any idea where I can find one. I’ve had NO luck on E- Bay and nobody makes it as a Reproduction part.
You know, when these cars first came out in the late 60's, they were pretty much ugly compared to the rest of the muscle car line up. Goddamn, they sure are pretty now.
Damn what is a hot Dart and reminds me of one that I lost recently because the guy sold it before I could get funding for it. Was greengo and had a built 413 max wedge ☹️
Yeah, that gave me wood.
Nice

Perfect job cousin !!!
If I was going to spray it I would run a 10" ATI converter Maybe a different gear...
The mighty valiant. It's what these beasts are called in New Zealand 🇳🇿 and Australia 🇦🇺
This makes me even happier to have dragged home a 69 Dart F6 project!!!😁

What's with the nitrous? Never seen a Hemi with nitrous.
Yup not normally.... figure it’ll cost a whole bunch if it blows up...
