The Best of Sälen, Lindvallen, Högfjället - Inspiring Cinematic Music With Beautiful Nature Scenes
Sälen is a locality situated in Malung-Sälen Municipality, Dalarna County.
Despite its small population, Sälen receives many tourists every winter. Sälen is best known for hosting the start of Vasaloppet, the oldest (since 1922) and largest cross country ski race in the world, with over 15,000 participants in the main race alone. It is also known for its many alpine ski resorts, of which there are seven. The oldest resort in Sälen is Högfjällshotellet which was built in 1937 and remains popular for recreation, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing. Today Lindvallen, Högfjället, Tandådalen and Hundfjället are operated by the Skistar company. Lindvallen and Högfjället are connected with ski lifts.

Ski Sunne is an alpine ski resort outside Sunne in Värmland. Ski Sunne is Sweden's southernmost FIS-approved ski facility, which means that you can arrange, for example, World Cup competitions. Ski Sunne has 10 slopes and seven lifts, of which two are chairlifts. The facility also has a restaurant, ski rental, camping and an area for holiday homes.

My wife and i, nearly 40 Years ago, spent our holidays there. The first time, 4 weeks good weather, and we found it the nicest place on the Planet. Next Year we were there for 5 weeks and hat torrential rainfall, every day and this was the end of a lovestory.

I visited in1983. After watching this I wouldn't want to return. It was a sleepy village with burros in the street and cost,2 dollars a night for a bed or you could just sling a hammock from a coconut tree!! NOT now, every space has a building on it!! OMG

I'm a mixed race American, but my mother's family has been in Värmland for more than 600 years. I've never been there but I'm proud of my Swedish and Nordic heritage. Seeing it here is wonderful. I must go there, aquire land and build. Skål!

Beautiful nature and tranquility - while you can find amazing nature almost everywhere in Europe, the tranquility is not so common in the Western and Central Europe.

Zihuatanejo, is the Mexican town that was talked about in the great movie, Shawshank Redemption. Andy escapes from Shawshank and goes to zihuatanejo and he told Red, if he ever got out to go to a location where he would find money, and to meet Andy in Mexico. So Andy and Red, own a fishing charter business there and live happily ever after. One of the all time great movies.
