I revisit this tutorial frequently, just in case, to not miss something. Thank you for the tutorial.
Crazy that Substance cant do it on it's own.
who's here from hazazes hut
Me
Happy to help!
perfect timing! thanks!
Glad to help!
Really cool creative process! It’s always interesting to see other people’s thoughts when they create art. Keep it up man 💜💜
Thank you for the encouragement. I don’t think I’ve come across a negative comment since I started posting. The Blender community on UA-cam really is something special
Blender being free is how I know this world is good
The amount of cool projects made by Blender is mind boggling🤯
@@GhostStudiosAnimation It really is! You have inspired me to make a game dev series so that I will stay accountable to my project. I can't wait to follow you on your journey!
That makes me so happy! Do it! I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Do you have a concept in mind?
@@GhostStudiosAnimation Not fully. I know I want to do my first project in Roblox just because a lot of the nuance is done for you and I already have code and assets built for it. I need to research what kids are actually playing and go from there. A Devlog will help me stay accountable
Well, I can’t wait to see your update UA-cam shorts in the near future!
Dang my brain hurts but keep up the great work❤
My brain constantly hurts too… you’re not alone lol
This is looking great keep it up can't wait to see how it develops.❤
You and me both!
this is really genius!! smart thinking!!
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
quick tip: shift + left click moves the 3d cursor thanks for the vid o7
Thanks for the tip! Glad you liked the video:)
how about for 3d scan shoes? how do you vertex paint it?
It’s a different process because scans have so many more polygons. I know you can actually paint textures onto your mesh but it might be easier to retopoligize first

Once upon a time, there was young man that wanted to get a better source of income and live a more comfortable life. Everyday, he would think of how to achieve this goal and go to work. One he stumbled upon a video about storytelling and he became interested. Because of that, he decided to spend the sleepless night learning about storytelling. Because of that, he started posting short stories on his Twitter account. Until, one day, he got noticed by a prominent screenwriter, who invited the young man to contribute on his ongoing project.
Ngl im gonna be a little bummed if I find out that you’re referring to a different video 😂😂
Glad you’re becoming the hero of your own story!

Thanks for the encouragement:)
This is going to be a lifesave r for repetitive animations like strumming a guitar in my case. its been SUCH a rough one. Thanks buddy

Thank you:)
Just give it the damn chocolate bar 😢 Amazing work!! It’s great to see my little creatures come to life like this ❤
Haha it broke my heart a little to end it that way. Thanks for creating such a cool little robot:)
@@GhostStudiosAnimation my absolute pleasure! It’s great to see it alive like this 🙏
did anyone run into the issue of the vertex colors not fully being accurate? like it's not solid hard colors but more blurry etc (within substance)
+ figured it out, I was baking the textures at 512 px vs 4k LOL
What advantages does this have over assigning different materials to different faces in blender?
Good question! It’s much more optimized because you have specific polygon groups saved so you don’t have to constantly re-select to change your material selection
hi nice vid but i cant see wheres my loop tool, where is it or if possibel is there a shortcut key for it? like i want looptool then circle specifically
The loop tool should be on the left hand side of the editing mode workspace!
Hi, I'm the creator of the Woolly addon. Thanks for your honest and generous review, Ghost Studios. I wish you had contacted me before making the video, because the version that you are using had some major issues that were fixed within 2 days of uploading that version, as soon as they were reported by a user. 1. All issues mentioned in this video have been fixed. 2. Tooltips added for all modifiers and materials, so you can hover your mouse cursor over any property and a brief description will appear. 3. A single common Felt material used by the base mesh and the hair curves. 4. Detailed Documentation is available for all Hair Systems. 5. Two new hair systems, Fuzz and Sequin, have been added. More are on their way. 6. New assets added - Curve Modifiers, Materials, and more! Hope this helps. I request you to kindly update your Woolly addon and confirm if everything works. Let me know if you need help with anything. Happy Blending! Rahul
Thanks for commenting, Rahul! I know some other people also had a hard time navigating the add on as I described. I’ll pin your comment to point them in the right direction!
@@GhostStudiosAnimation Thanks! I request all Woolly users reading this to use the latest version of the addon (BETA04). In the Downloads section, you will also find a feedback form where you can share your thoughts and request new assets for the pack. As I continue to develop the Woolly v2 update, I welcome any kind of feedback or suggestions that you may have. Cheers!
You can also bake ID Map directly in Blender. Not in Substance Painter. 1) After you selected "Vertex Mode" and assigned your Vertex Colors, make sure that your model doesn't have any materials 2) Also make sure that Color Attributes of your model ((In "Object Data Properties") has active slot with TexTools color ID 3) Select "Material ID" in TexTools -> Bake! OR if you want to bake ID Map and don't want to remove a material from your mesh. 3) Go to Shader Editor 4) Add node "Color Attribute" ("Vertex Attribute") in Base Color slot of your Shader 3) Bake "Base Color" or "Diffuse"! Maybe there are other ways to bake ID Map by TexTools in Blender. So if you know how, please inform.
That’s good information for people who don’t use substance painter! I find the substance painter workflow easier and more intuitive, but I know not everyone has access to it.
Great and useful information! A basic character sculpting tutorial would definitely be appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll definitely put that on the list!
That's pretty good advice actually ❤
Yeah I know for me, sometimes I overcomplicate my models in my head before I model them. It kinda psychs me out lol
love this new tutorial!
More to come!
One of the best channels for CG artists. You explain things so easy and effortlessly. That's what we need. Thanks for all you do.
That’s really great to hear! Thank you for the kind words:)
when were sculpting and we want to enhanced detail should we remesh with a higher resolution or with the same as we remesh firstly is there is a difference by staying with the same resolution or it don't count
Once you have the geometry you need to create the overall shape, try using the multirez modifier. I’ll talk about that in a future video but it allows you to have more control over the topology density
Thanks so much for making this video! I was also having trouble figuring out the geonode system. I wanted to try my hand at recreating that knit texture that is on the store page in the video with Mona Lisa, but I cant find the custom node groups they use in the example. Do you know how to create this effect?
I haven’t looked into that specifically but I think the add on comes with a separate blender file. You could try appending the node group from that file to your personal file? Again, I haven’t looked into that functionality:)
What you are looking for is the new "Crochet Material" that comes with the 'Woolly Assets' file. It is compatible with Blender's Asset Browser. Please check the Documentation if you are not sure how to add it to Blender. Happy Blending!
Can you please make full tutorial of puppet satan character

Absolutely! Glad I could help:)
I'm trying to learn animation in Blender and this will be a game changer! Thanks
I've loved this workflow! Excited to see what you put out there!
Great video. Just learning about drivers and looking forward to using them. I’ve noticed professional animators do not use rotational constraints on their armatures. I’ve asked other animators, and they all simply said they don’t use them because they don’t want to limit the range of their characters motion. Based on your video, I’m assuming they use controllers, with range limitations, to avoid unwanted stretching, and distortions. Would that be a true assumption?
Yeah it depends on the part and type of rig. You're likely to add constraints on facial armatures, and less likely to use them on arms and shoulders.
Nice tips!
Thanks!
How accurate is remesh really though?
haha, right... I felt like I was compelled to include it
I’ll be your little bool tool
Hahaha! 😂 Best blender pickup lines, go!
Good stuff. I was wondering, say I had a box, got rid of a face. Instead of filling it and using inset. I try to scale inwards. If the mesh isn't doing that, and going to some side. Why is that? I tried different orientations that didn't work.
It's a little hard to tell without seeing the model, but it might be an issue of not having enough geometry on your model.
Great info my friend! Thank you for taking your time to share your knowledge with us. Learning so much from you! - Looking forward to the next one
Thanks, Ben, for the kind words!
